These people should be arrested for theft. $70 for 2 meals without
drinks and the only thing edible was the coleslaw! The two slices of brisket had 3 bites of actual meat. The rest was inedible gristle. The trítip was somehow over and under cooked at the same time. All the meat tasted like it had been marinated in straight lighter fluid for days. The bbq sauce was less of a sauce and more of a sickening pudding skin texture. The beans were watery and barely cooked. The Mac and cheese was clumpy and the noodles were mushy. The corn bread was so dry it just crumbled into sand when we tried to take a bite. This was so disgusting and such a horrific dining experience I'd be embarrassed to even know the people who claim this is food and think it's okay to charge those prices for garbage my dogs even had a hard time eating!

The food is good but I can’t rate it any better than average. The pulled pork I ordered was a little cold and tasted like it had been sitting around a long time. The brisket sandwich was meh, we’ve had much better. The meat was kind of dry on both items we ordered. A little over priced too, $52 tab but this was not a $52 meal, not even close.

I ordered a takeout order of 2 brisket meals and they said it would be 10 minutes, when I got there I had to park behind 2 cars with my hazards on as there was no parking on Colby. The lady behind the counter couldn’t find the order, when she asked the manager she stated she forgot to make it and asked if I still wanted it. I said yes but had to move my truck. After moving my truck I came back in and asked if she had made it and she said no. I asked if she even remembered the order and I wasn’t happy. She said I could leave if I had that attitude. Terrible customer service.

I got a brisket sandwich, bottled water, and side of greens for about 26$ with tip. Bbq never been cheap and in todays economy that isnt too wild i keep telling myself. The counter server was pretty friendly and the brisket was solid, I was mostly impressed by the collard greens - they're worth trying here.

I payed 40 dollars for two sandwhiches that literally consisted of just meat on bread. Tasted awful.

I usually don't give a medium review to a place', but we searched out the best BBQ in the area and this was the spot. Cool place and awesome folks working at J and L but it was not the best BBQ I ever had.. Nice smoke ring and good texture but a little dry and very light on flavor. The mack and cheeseweres ok as well as the coleslaw. The cornbread and beans were really good (great use of garlic).

Please don't take my word for this and give them a try. Maybe lunch is not the best time for smoked food here. We will try it again another day. Again good BBQ.. Just not what I was hoping for as a BBQ fanatic.

I'm originally from the south, it has been hard pressed to find quality bbq up here. J and L is just that.
Brisket was juicy and had a great crust.
Jalapeño sausage had a great bite.
The chicken perfectly cooked but still moist.
Cornbread and honey butter brought me back home.
Mash potatoes and Mac n cheese is every bit the comfort you want from those sides.

No pictures this time as it got inhaled.

The food was so delicious. Their brisket had so much flavor. Their sides are a must as well, especially their corn bread and reds with gravy. The staff were so nice too! We will definitely be back!

I love their chicken sandwiches, pulled pork, mashed potato’s and corn bread.
When I tell you their mashed potatoes are the best I’ve ever had I mean it.
