Ahhhhhmazing! So let me tell you about a place you can get fall off the bone mouth watering dishes! Grandma is definitely in the kitchen cooking up comfort. The j*** chicken and sweet potatoes are our favorites

Great food ! Ordered Garlic wings well done. They were perfect! The green beans tasted great just like grandma had cooked them all day. The macaroni coulda used a little more creamy cheese. The portion size I thought was small but it was very filling. Good home feel good food !

I recently moved north of Seattle and happened upon Grandma's while taking a drive around Everett. Let me preface this review by saying that I lived in Atlanta for 13 years and I KNOW good soul food when I taste it. And much like that old Atlanta chain, up here in Everett "this is IT." We came by on a quiet Sunday. (Passing by today in the middle of a busy Saturday afternoon, their parking lot was PACKED, so I'm assuming it was an anomaly that we were the only people there.) Almost everything on the menu was available except for the oxtails which were not ready. We each got a sampler plate with two meats and three sides. Here is an example of what was available: j*** chicken, j*** ribs, coconut corn, vegetarian collard greens, regular collard greens, mac n cheese, Grandma's famous hash, bbq chicken, bbq ribs, green beans, brisket, and catfish fried to order. Each plate is topped off with a huge slice of cornbread. The very first item I tasted was the collards. It was the first time I've tasted collards like the ones I've had in the south since living there. Flavorful and seasoned just right. As one might say if they lived in Atlanta, grandma put her foot in it. Another excellent side was the coconut corn. Sweet, savory, and highly addictive. I enjoyed the Caribbean-influenced dishes such as the corn and j*** chicken. I thought the j*** chicken was better than the j*** ribs though. I liked the brisket least of all but everything was delicious. Who knew that such a restaurant existed on the outskirts of downtown Everett? We will go back soon to try a dessert or two--and the oxtail, of course. Bonus points for urging the community to fill out the census with the signage outside and the census totes bags used for takeout.

Waited over hour for our food to be delivered and then got a call from Grubbhub saying the restaurant did not respond and had to cancel my order!

Second time ordering delivery tonight and both times the food has been so amazing! This time was even better with more sauce/flavor. Packing is consolidated which we don't mind since we are sharing everything anyway. I ordered small sizes this time and they seem to be the same size as the medium sides I ordered last time....but the food is so good I don't even care. Will keep ordering for sure. I did want to add that there were a lot of bones big and small in the bbq chicken sandwich we ordered. I was going to share with my son but glad I didn't after that discovery. I'm guessing the normal option is pulled pork instead of chicken thigh but the options for some of the online ordering via yelp is weird/confusing. Definitely not a deterrent but felt it was important to note.

I've had Grandma's In Da Kitchen twice now. Extremely pleased with both meals. There are some distinct and unique flavors in the "classic" BBQ dishes. Her fried chicken and j*** chicken were some of the best I've had in a long time. The chicken both times was perfectly cooked and juicy. Quick dish review: Fried Chicken- delightful, super juicy J*** Chicken- mild heat, sweet, juicy Red Beans & Rice- super flavorful Cornbread - Great once, good the other BBQ Beans- super suprising cinnamon, "omg, it's so good" Corn- sweet and buttery Green beans- great flavor Mac and cheese- fine, didn't make my heart sing of childhood. Overall, if you want some solid chicken and BBQ, make sure you check this gem out.

The ribs were good, the bbq chicken was good, the Mac and cheese was average, the cornbread was a little disappointing and very itty bitty pieces. Greens has was too much garlic and salt. Pecan pie was a very small slice for $3.75. Overall I think the food was ok. It's what I would expect like from a family bbq, nothing fancy. Home cooked tasting. That being said.... Paying $30 for 2 single ribs, 1chicken thigh, 2 small scoops of Mac, 1 scoop sweet potato, 1 itty bitty side of greens (1/4 cup?) and a piece of corn bread roughly 2x2 inches, and a slice of pie about 3in wide. Definitely not worth the price. They need to lower their prices, or consider increasing their portion sizes. Not worth $30. Mind you, I'm a 5'6 average build female. Lol.

Oh, man. This lady is making some unbelievably good food in a little spot that seems off the beaten path, and has been a million different things through the years. Get in here and support her. I already felt kinda late getting here; the press coverage a few months ago made the place sound incredible and made it clear that she herself has quite a story to tell. When the lockdown hit, of course we're all going out a lot less, and lots of us are starting to worry about supporting the places we like so they can stick around through this big slow time. We finally got here today, and it turns out she has been feeding people every Saturday. For free. She's still open the other days, but she makes food for about 150 for lunch every Saturday, and if you need that help like a free meal, she's here for you. They get blasted with a hurricane of customers every time, and Sundays they're still recovering from the shock. I hope these Saturday crowds tip like crazy--at least the people who still have some kind of paycheck, anyway. 'Cause it's not like this is Grandma Inc. This is one lady with her name on the door, designing every recipe, putting the menu together, standing in that kitchen cooking every day. She is no multi-millionaire, and here she is making sure people are taken care of. Even strangers. It's humbling to see. But let's get back to that part about the menu and the recipes. She calls the shots in the kitchen, and this means the way she would feed you if you were one of her grandbabies come to visit her. This is probably the closest I've seen any place around here come to serious nostalgic home cooking in a restaurant setting. She's known for her chicken, and she damn sure should be known for her chicken. It's incredible. We tried 2 kinds of wings and a mixed 8-piece bucket. The lemon pepper wings had the perfect blend of light tang, a little butteriness, and some black pepper zing. The j*** wings were definitely NOT spicy, let alone scary spicy. They're perfectly seasoned, with a bit of tartness, some peppery notes, and a hint of herbaceousness mixed in. It's a good combination of flavors, and no need to worry about sweating or having your mouth go numb. I don't think there were scotch bonnet peppers in here at all. The 8-pieces will feed us for lunch and for dinner today. We ordered it j*** but it tasted like the base recipe breading. No worries there whatsoever--it's so delicious, I'm glad we tried the "original" (if that's the right word) for our first visit. There's very little breading on it, even in the nooks and crannies, but it's still just crispy enough. The bird is perfectly juicy, cooked through without overdoing it. She clearly knows how to get the poultry done just right. We'll put the leftovers in the air fryer tonight and maybe try them with added seasonings. The sides dishes are where she really sets herself apart from other chicken or bbq places. So many of them have side dishes just because they feel like they have to, not because they're proud to serve a house recipe. This lady makes everything to a level that people will brag about her cooking to anyone who'll listen. The baked beans are very traditional, with some molasses and bacon and light seasoning. They're on the sweet side compared to everything else on the table, though not the sweetest baked beans in town. The mac and cheese is cooked perfectly--still just a bit chewy, but nice soft noodles. The sauce is a mild white cheese sauce. The hash brown casserole subbed in for the cornbread stuffing, which was sold out. This casserole is insane--maybe some bread crumbs in there, maybe some Lipton Onion Soup mix. Very, very nostalgic. Even if you have grown kids yourself, you feel like you are a kid being fed a holiday meal eating this stuff. My truck still smells amazing from carrying leftover fried chicken around. You seriously need to come check this place out. Even during shelter-in-place, just get it to go

Love the hospitality and the prices are great. Can't wait to get home and eat, the food was awesome I had j*** chicken, meatloaf(with oxtail gravy) Mac and cheese, collard greens, with two pieces of lemon meringue pie. I highly recommend this place, can't wait to go back and try something new

This place has been on my radar since I read about it in the Harald article. Not only is it owned and run by a woman, but the reviews sounded amazing. I loved reading about her take on comfort food and the reviews all had great things to say so I knew I needed to come. I had high expectations, and they were exceeded. Upon arrival I could hear cheerful medium loud music, it smelled so good inside that I actually texted my husband that I was going to leave with one of everything on the menu if I lingered too long. They were super cleanly changing gloves in between orders during covid, and very friendly. I had placed my order over the phone so it was ready for me when I arrived. They confirmed my order, I paid without ever handing over my card and I was on my way. We ordered one rib plate which came with two sides, we chose Mac and cheese and baked beans. Then we ordered a sampler plate and after choosing my 2 meats and 3 sides (**** chicken, bbq ribs, Mac and cheese, Caribbean Cole slaw and baked beans) we also ordered a side of green beans and 2 orders of peach cobbler. The j*** chicken had amazing flavor, was still warm and enjoyable to eat after the 20 min car ride home. The ribs were meaty and the bbq sauce was slightly sweet and delicious, the cole slaw might have been my favorite thing on the menu, it was smoky, spicy and sweet. The Mac and cheese was good, baked macaroni instead of the stove top kind, lots of cheese. The green beans were great too! Baked beans were sweet in the best way. Both the meals came with cornbread. I don't even like cornbread but figured I couldn't get the full southern meal experience without it... it was delicious! Best cornbread I've ever had. We saved the peach cobbler for several hours later because we were so full from dinner. At this point I was expecting it to be as good as the rest of the meal, and I was right. Just the right amount of sweet, as in very sweet without making you sick levels of sweet. I cannot wait to go back and order more things on their menu. Happy to have them in the community!

Where can you get a good Southern home-cooked comfort meal in Snohomish county? Grandma's is the place! I was going to order delivery on Yelp, but when I called to make sure they were open the conversation was so great and learned there was a lot more to offer than what I saw online. Decided to take a drive and take out instead. The food is all visible from a deli style case, so you get to see all of your choices. Unfortunately I wanted everything. They have a sample plate with two meats and three sides. The meatloaf was dense with all the right seasonings and still juicy. The pulled pork was tender, topped with bbq sauce and a little coleslaw with a little kick but not over powering. The mac and cheese is more baked so it is not runny. I prefer this style but I know not all do. The green beans are more French style with chucks of potatoes in it. For my last side I ordered baked beans and it was packed to go however it never made it in the bag and did not realize until I was home. There was a slide of cornbread that was moist but I still like to put butter on top. There is a huge selection of desserts too. I was going to get the key lime pie, but decided on the Alma T. Cake instead. A slice of white cake with an orange "sauce" poured over it. It sells out quick so decided to try it this time. Friendly service (they put out more meatloaf for me). Don't expect fast, but expect good food! The sample plate is a good choice if you can't decide. Plenty of food to fill you up.

My husband and I went and Grandma's is a great place to go. Nice variety of food and the fish is made when you order it. We will most certainly be going back.

Where in Washington state can you find ....umm you can't! My five star review is on food alone. These eats are exactly what they claim to be, good lord, the best collard greens, ribs fell off the bone, mix cornbread in yams=heaven! I want to race back up there tomorrow!

Happened upon this delightful little family owned restaurant and was very pleased with not only the food but the service. We got take out on Saturday & the food was so delicious. The servings were huge and everything we ordered had so much flavor. My favorite was the colored greens & the bbq chicken. We also sampled the ribs, meatloaf and the mac & cheese. You won't be disappointed & we will definitely return soon.

Just do yourself a favor and head on over! What is sure to be your new favorite soul food spot is still open for to-go orders (and is just as delicious as ever) ... we've been in a few times and actually everything on the menu is just that darn good! Our regular favorites include the ribs, mac n cheese, hash brown casserole, mashed potatoes and cole slaw (Cajun or regular) hey now rice and beans .... also anything with j*** sauce is a must order! We also just tried the (bucket of fried chicken deal 8 pieces for $10.99 I think), once you try it you'll wonder why you ever went anywhere else! this food is SERIOUSLY DELICIOUS! Ps get dessert (the key lime pie we've had there made us want the whole pie instead of just the slice) (Also they're a small business - the food is prepared with so much care... some reviews docked their stars because the service was slow... big deal... The real point is the food is GREAT the people are KIND and the portions are GOOD!
