After reading the negative reviews I can confidently say that anybody willing to write a negative statement about this establishment has simply lost the spice of life, a sad sight. The point isn’t to order what you want. You get the FULL BOAT and engaging conversation, full stop. This sandwich satisfied the appetites of thousands of people for 40 years. The news firehose is spraying directly at us. Sub Shop in Everett is my meditation to stay grounded. The menu is minimalistic and the no-frills sandwiches should make Subway file bankruptcy in shame. Uncle Eng is equal parts showman and sandwichi. He spun yarn of his journey using a basketball to float the rough seas to escape China, his adaptation in America and his upcoming celebration of 40 years on Broadway. Don't visit if you hate the American Dream.
Tucked away on a side street, this place is easy to overlook with all the fast food places in the area. There's no signage from the main street, or even on the sidewalk. The only way to tell it's there, the front facing sign of a submarine that's says sub shop.

I only stumbled upon it while walking a new route, but I'm sure glad I did!
The owner was a very nice gentleman who clearly had seen the changes of the times in that area...
