It was my first visit here. We came in to order to go as it was 17 minutes untiI close. We were immediately greeted and seated after I explained we wanted to take our food to not keep them late. Here is where I met Evie. She told us to sit down and not worry about the time. We had amazing conversation, she made incredible drinks and made me and my husband feel like family. The food would have been the best part of the night had she not made me feel like family.
I could not recommend this restaurant more. The atmosphere 10/10. The drinks 10/10. The incredible service by Evie. 20/10.

Went Tuesday CLOSED. Checked website closed Mon & Tues. Stopped by Thursday window lights on so parked & walked to door. Sign on door “closed but still awesome”. I beg to differ! Atleast Turn Off the window lights!! Also suggest you rewrite your hours on your website! Or have the curtesy to be open when you state you are. Also why is the Chef not making “CHICKEN & DUMPLINS” for months ?
I try to avoid leaving negative reviews especially when the staff were so great but the tacos were terrible😞 Before my visit here, I would have argued there is no such thing as a bad taco but they were incredibly bland and a little soggy too.
My friend ordered the steak tacos and I had the chicken tacos. Her meal came out a few minutes before mine. It was thin white corn tortillas, steak, sharp cheddar cheese, and either a plain pico or diced tomatoes. On the side was a very small dollop of sour cream and a thin guac type spread. It did not look appealing. She was hopeful because our server (who was really nice and engaging) said the meat was smoked and he kinda bragged it up like we were in for a treat. She took a few bites and told me it tasted boiled not smoked.
When mine came to the table my chicken looked really good. I took one bite and it had no flavor at all, none! It tasted like all the flavor had been boiled out of the meat. I was also taken aback seeing orange cheddar cheese on street tacos but maybe that's just me. It literally did taste like I was eating plain unseasoned chicken in soggy corn tortillas. It didn't taste bad, it just didn't have any taste at all. I was so baffled by it, it's still been on my mind almost a week later. I'm thinking they might plate the food and put it in a steam warmer but did it for a little too long
It's a bummer because we wanted to try their enchiladas but they ran out of the sauce for it at 6pm on a Saturday. The margaritas were great though! I had a raspberry marg and my friend had a spicy margarita. We interacted with 3-4 staff members, and all of them were really welcoming, attentive, with an upbeat cheery disposition.

We’ve been to The New Mexicans three times since April, and our experiences have been a mixed bag.
Our first visit was excellent—great service, great vibe, and food that actually reminded us of home in New Mexico. That first impression had us excited to come back. Unfortunately, the last two visits have fallen short.
Service has slowed noticeably. On both recent trips, it took forever just to get our drink orders taken, and when drinks finally arrived, they came out alongside our food. That might be forgivable if the food delivered, but sadly, it hasn’t.
The biggest letdown has been the flavor—or rather, the lack of it. The beans, pulled pork, and even the burger all tasted bland, with nothing standing out until I added green chile to bring some life to the dish. For a restaurant carrying the name The New Mexicans, the flavors should be bold, layered, and true to what makes New Mexican cuisine so unique.
That said, there are a couple bright spots: the margaritas are consistently strong and well-balanced, and the sopapillas have been perfect every time—warm, fluffy, and a highlight we genuinely look forward to.
As New Mexican natives, we were really hoping for a place we could keep coming back to, but right now it feels like the quality and consistency just aren’t there.

I hate to say it, but sadly they have lost there mojo... They are out of so many things on a regular basis and the quality when available is not consistent. Really wish I could report differently because they used to be a go to for me and I would make a special trip...not anymore...

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for quite awhile based off good reviews and recommendations. Unfortunately, my experience here was very underwhelming. The Carne Asada Burrito was dry and bland. I didn’t like the way it was seasoned at all and it was packed with plain white rice. It came with a side of sour cream that was enough for the first bite of my burrito. The brisket sandwich also fell short of our expectations with bbq sauce that was overly sweet. I ordered a Coke, but they informed me they were out of, so I settled for a root beer. Their pop is sold in cans which means no refills. Server was attentive, but she seemed like she didn’t want to be there at all.
