Went in a late lunch on Sunday. Not too busy when we walked in.The seating area was clean. Typical conveyor belt items. You can order fresh as well. I did see a few items circle for a long duration, I skipped those. There were some items without a cover, I skipped those too. I did see staff refresh the items within acceptable intervals. The prices are good. The food tastes good. I asked for ginger and got a good serving. The food is presented well. The staff is welcoming. I ate, I was happy, my tummy was happy after 2+hrs of leaving. I will be going back.
Parking: Very limited right in front of the restaurant but there is a whole parking section in the plaza. How close to the restaurant will depend on how busy the plaza is.
Kid-friendliness: I saw options that most picky eater kids <10yrs would enjoy, fruits, deserts, popcorn shrimp, chicken bites.. etc. Plus, you can ask staff for options. Very easy to engage with the staff.

I haven’t been to this place but I ordered Uber Eats from them and couldn’t be more disappointed. I ordered the jumbo negi hamachi roll and I’m not even sure wtf this is that I got…looks nothing like the photo online and is missing components to the roll entirely. Whatever this is was not at all worth the money I paid for it - HIGHLY recommend you order elsewhere!!!!!

Too expensive for mediocre sushi. Hot dishes were cold. Other dishes were dried out from riding the conveyer belt. We were disappointed.

Update 09/27/24
Food is really good, getting more expensive but…..waitress sucked!! Did not ask if we wanted something to drink or check on us until they knew I was upset. Things were so much better with previous owners and staff..

We stopped in for a late lunch after seeing their sign stating “Conveyer belt now open.” Never had conveyer belt sushi before and was pleasantly surprised. I’m a creature of habit when it comes to sushi -order what you know and like. This was a fun way to try not only new rolls, but appetizers, side dishes, desserts, etc. that you normally wouldn’t. The plates are color coordinated by pricing and constantly changing, proving you with ample options throughout your dining experience. The general manager was attentive and periodically stopping by to check on guests. You have to request ginger, but other than that, Blue Island is a good stop for groups, pairs, or even singles.
Parking: Ample parking.
Kid-friendliness: Saw a family of seven eating at the conveyor counter.
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchairs can fit at the counter as well as tables.

I’ll just be honest here the prices for what you pay are not worth it. You’ll end up spending 40 or more for a few 2 piece plates when you could just do trappers all you can eat down the street and get more for the same price

I brought my son in for lunch for his first conveyor belt sushi experience, and he was disappointed. A plate of fried chicken circulating when we arrived, looking old and dry, was still circulating when we left 30 minutes later. There wasn't much of a selection circulating while we were there, and the servers never asked if we wanted to order anything off the menus (which we had to request). No sauce with gyoza, no pickled ginger with the sushi. The rolls we did select were just okay; my son LOVES octopus, but didn't like the octopus roll at all. This place is expensive for poor quality and just okay service. I hadn't been here in probably 10 years and am not likely to ever go back. There are many better options in Federal Way.
Parking: Limited parking near entrance.
