I am a fan. It was my first time so tried the Original with an egg, pork and veggie gyoza. Everything was well executed. It got quite crowded at lunch time. Our server was friendly and the decor was edging towards anime chic

Never really been super into ramen but this place changed me. The spicy curry ramen was the best ramen I’ve ever had, not super spicy and very tasty. The staff was also very friendly. Will definitely be returning.

I really wanted to like this place I was super excited to try it but then I did and the black garlic ramen tasted burnt and there was actual charcoal pieces in it, one looked too big to be just black garlic bits(I broke it down in the pic) and I am very familiar with black garlic, this was burnt black garlic, it’s an unforgettable look and bitter taste when something is charcoal ok. The pork was also boiled there’s so way that thing was braised. The takoyaki was good though, I never tried it before so I have no comparison but I liked it. Their website actually doesn’t tell you what it is, so if you’re not an octopus fan that might be a surprise for you.I’m pregnant and craved the heck out of ramen so I ate it anyway and I wished it was at least good enough where I’d come back but $50 for me and my hubs is a hard pass next time.

Great service and ambiance. The ramen is flavorful. The fireball adds a nice kick. My new go-to ramen spot.

I hate to do this but this place would've gotten 3 stars had it not been for the unsanitary practices I witnessed. The ramen is prob the worst I've had in this state besides their takoyaki is the only thing that saved this review. The server also doesn't really care to hear/listen when taking our orders but we still provided her with a generous tip. I watched her take our orders then proceed to go clean up tables with cleaner and then go straight to pick up our orders, plates and silverware WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS. We saw her do this at least twice while we were there dining in. Needless to say we won't be back.

Spicy miso ramen is about a level 1 spice in my opinion. Not spicy at all. If you want additional spice you can get the fireball add on for a dollar and some change which will bump it to probably spice level 2. Nothing too crazy. The broth had a strong creamy base taste to it. Service was ok, could be better maybe greet customers and being more enthusiastic instead of being bland could totally make it less quiet and or awkward. Great decor tho! would go back for appetizers rather than ramen.

The quality of the noodles was fantastic. We got the dipping noodles and it was fun to experience the very authentic experience. The broth was just ok, not the best. It really needed some spiciness (i ordered the spicy and it wasn’t spicy at all). I asked for some siracha or spicy sauce to add and they charged me for the hot sauce which I thought was a little odd for a meal that’s already 20+ and supposed to be spicy. Probably won’t be back for that reason.

First, when we came in, nobody put us on the waiting list, and then we had to wait for around 15 minutes when they would clear the empty tables because the waitress decided that to talk on the phone was more important. They also forgot about the miso ramen, and we had to wait another half hour. Now food... broth in miso ramen was disgusting. My girlfriend couldn't finish even half of it. I love curry, so I ordered a curry ramen and also was very dissatisfied as it tasted like they used a lot of whipping cream and zero curry, and I also couldn't finish it. Also, I was surprised that I had to pay an extra fee for the egg. Never coming back to that place again.

In short Great ramen shop with tons of sides and styles, including the ever-elusive tsukemen noodles. In long This part of Federal Way is where I spent most of my movie-going and arcade-going adolescence, and my grandpa's business was not far around the corner. I can't believe how many new roads and buildings have popped in the, oh, 5 or so minutes since I moved away. One of the many new strip malls that seem packed with interesting food choices is here on 317th, where Menya has opened their new southern outpost after great success in Seattle. They're the kind of place that keeps customers and even employees for years upon years, so it's kinda funny I hadn't gotten around to trying them until they popped up in my old stamping grounds. There are two sets of front doors and plenty of parking. You walk into a big, bright, airy, sparkling clean and modern cube of a dining room, with tons of woodcut and anime type art on the walls, tabletops, and even the dishes. They might not be able to make the outside feel like you're in Japan, but they're certainly trying to make the inside feel that way. Lots of bubbly pop tunes (I would imagine J-Pop) on the hi-fi. There are long communal tables, a few family tables, and a handful of 2-tops (which have unpadded chairs, btw). They're all over cleaning anything and everything the second anyone heads out. The menu has 3 pages of ramens and sides and a page of drinks. I got the iced oolong tea, which came out in a can but tasted better than plenty of fresh-brewed iced teas I've had. Takoyaki Wow, these are good, and clearly house-made. Generously stuffed with fish, covered with flakes, and dipped in the OG sauce in my case--and that is some very flavorful and delicious sauce. I need to work through the other 6 or 8 sauce options over time. Before I go any farther, lemme note that when ANY food served hot hits your table, it is coming in straight from the surface of the sun. Chicken Karaage Tender, boneless, good flavor, nice dipping sauce. I feel so much more grown up ordering nuggets when I don't have to say "nuggets" or "tenders." Spicy Miso Tonkotsu ramen I know, I know, I shoulda gotten the tsukemen, since it's hard to find and they're known for it here. They have a little cartoon table tent explaining how to eat it, for heaven's sake. My boy S ordered it, for his first time (would've been mine, too), and when the server asked how he wanted the noodles, he had to think--and said "mmm, cold." Our awesome server chuckled and said "good, then I don't have to judge you." They're all so friendly and nice and good at their jobs here. Anyway. My ramen was great--rich and creamy broth, which I really craved this afternoon. Spice as a seasoning component, not ratcheted up to stunt levels. (Too spicy for some folks, but pleasant and delicious if you regularly eat anything hotter than Sriracha). Fresh crisp condiments on top, tender and flavorful pork belly and egg. Everything just perfect, really--awesome chewy noodles. I'd put this place in my top 5 ramen spots, and I haven't even tried the specialty of the house yet. We were out the door for about $80 for 3 apps, 2 bowls, and 3 teas. Worth it.

The red ramen is my go-to. So rich and flavorful, with the perfect amount of heat. I always get extra broth! The chasu is consistently delicious as well. I would love to know how they get their ajitama so perfect?!!!!

The food is very tasty and good portion. We opted for extra meat which probably isn’t needed for me. The standard is one piece, but it’s a good size of pork belly. I can’t finish the extra meat I got. I got the dipping ramen, their noodles are thicker and not as soft as most of the ramen or udon, which is a plus for me.Only give 4 stars ⭐️ is because the “wari soup” that you can ask to mix with the dipping to make it a soup. It said it’s a lightly flavored broth, but it is just hot water. Feel cheated a little bit. I completely don’t mind if it stated as hot water. Other than that, everything is delicious. Definitely order the popcorn chicken, super yummy and juicy. I forgot to take pictures.

Place wasn't as nice on the inside but the atmosphere and staff are nice. We both got Ramen and chicken as an appetizer. To be honest the chicken was absolutely AMAZING. We would come back just to put back a large portion of it. Spicy miso ramen 7.5/10 good but lacked flavoring Black Ramen: 5/10: it was decent. I added another pork and all the spice they gave us but it still felt bland. Overall, would return for chicken and something new!
