HATE to say this, but as someone who has been coming here for years, the food sucks compared to what it once was. The quality in taste has gone down, and it's pricier as well.

Food: Not sure if it's just an off day, but I got the Shoyu Ramen ($16) and the broth used to be spectacular where you can taste the deep porky flavor from being simmered for hours, but there was none of that today. It straight up just tasted soy sauce with no dimensions of flavor to the broth. Then the karaage... juicy BUT bland without sauce, which is disappointing because It used to be seasoned well. I have no idea how but even the spicy mayo sucks now and tastes more like the stuff they put on honey walnut prawns.

Service: Nice people. Though I think they could do better when it comes to seating people. Notice a lot of people leaving because they were a bit disorganized and not attentive to the front where people come in despite having empty seats.

Worst ramen I tried. Broth was tasteless. Karaage has no flavor.

The ramen where delicious. We ordered vegetarian and gluten free ramen (my boyfriend is allergic to gluten). They first gave us regular ramen instead of gluten free ramen (luckily I saw, that the noodles looked the same, before my boyfriend took a bite) but we called and went back to get gluten free ramen for which we didn‘t have to pay and got a coke for free as well.

Too noisy with awful sports television playing plus the rap or metal music for the cooks. The staff are robotic. This place 5 years ago was fantastic ramen and servers but there was an old man present back then. Don’t recommend for the expense or the obnoxious noise. Also heads up its kid friendly so be prepared for crying, squealing, and coughing from the high chair parked 5 inches from you. Just get up and move, too expensive to endure poor parenting skills of others.

The place fell off over the year. The ramen used to be savory but now it just bland and salty. Also I can't get over the mandatory gratuity on top of asking for tip. Food is decent but not at the cost.

We’ve always loved Tokyo -ya Ramen, and are the regular customers. However, in our recent takeout order (two Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen) we found a piece of plastic in one of the bowls especially that bowls is for our kid. We’re not sure what it came from, but we can confirm it was a piece of plastic.
We just wanted to bring this to attention in case it helps with the kitchen checks.

18 bucks for ramen in federal way, and a 1 buck 55 for corn. Don't care how good it is, this is a rip off
