My wife and I stopped in for an early Wednesday dinner at Village Inn, a local favorite we’ve been visiting for years—and once again, it didn’t disappoint. The restaurant was clean and welcoming, and our server was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely accommodating.

My wife ordered the patty melt with a side of fresh mixed fruit (other options included fries or coleslaw). Her sandwich was cooked perfectly—crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I went with the double club on rye, and it was a beast of a sandwich! Thick-sliced carved turkey, generous strips of thick bacon, ham, cheese, lettuce, and tomato stacked high—hearty and satisfying. I swapped out the usual fries for hash browns and added a side of their house-made cornbread stuffing. Wow! Everything was served hot, fresh, and fast.

The portions were huge and the value exceptional. I couldn’t even finish my sandwich (which is saying something). The service, food, and overall experience continue to make this one of our go-to spots in Federal Way. Highly recommend!

We walked in and ended up taking our own seats although serving staff saw us standing to be seated. Once upon a time no so long ago there was a wait and the place was packed for breakfast, especially on a weekend. There were only two other tables being served when we walked in…that should have been a clue! We ordered the chicken fried steak and I ordered an additional two pancakes. The chicken fried steak was tuff and tasteless. I could barely endure two small bites. The sausage gravy sauce actually had a blue tint to it, that was another clue. My son had the same and stated the eggs did not look edible, although they were “suppose” to be scrambled and he ended up losing his appetite. The only saving grace were the two pancakes I ordered and the cup of coffee. I don’t know what has changed, new management, ownership but this place is worst than Dennys. The service and quality of food has long gone from this old gem. Truly sad to see…

No idea what food is like, after waiting about 10 minutes at the front no one came to greet us we took off. There were plenty of open tables, but the waitresses were overly busy with such a small group of people who were already seated.

We went to our usual diner at Denny’s. They had plenty of people as well, but someone told us right away as soon as we walked in that it would take a minute. Shortly after we got seated and everything fast. It was in and out in no time.

All the food we ordered was impeccable!strawberry banana French toast is full of flavor. The skillets are seasoned perfect and loaded. The buiscits and gravy were unique! Gravy was light and the biscuits were airy and not dry. We didn’t sit down and we got all our food to go through an app so I can’t say how the customer service is.

I don't understand how this place stays open! The quality of the food has gone so downhill. They're never staffed enough so you have to wait forever to get any help.

The build your own breakfast. A cheese omelette means there's supposed to be a layer of cheese in the middle of the eggs hence an omelette. Not just some beat up eggs fried up with a tiny sprinkling of cheese. So little cheese I couldn't taste it.

We've gone back throughout the years but we're not going back. Even the pies aren't any good anymore.

And another note, fix the damn seat covers in the bathroom so that people don't hurt themselves. Two out of the three are incredibly loose.

Damn good cooking since high school years (70's). Reasonable$, breakfast, lunch, dinner; best to eat onsite. Grandma pastries pre-ordered for special events daily. No competition. Have a seat @ the table.

Parking: Strip Mall & onsite parking; varied additional parking.
