Sadly , there will come a time, hopefully much later rather than sooner where I’ll be up here to settle affairs. I know I’ll be going back to Al’s

Great chicken fried steak homemade hashbrowns and delicious homemade biscuits. Old school vibe listening to various elder locals discussing in town gossip while enjoying my meal alone was intrinsic of the old downtown diner 👍

The food is amazing. The staff are great and the waitress remembered the kind of dipping sauce I had ordered from the day before. The only negative I can say is it can get very loud there. Wish they had longer hours but the food and service outshine everything else.

First time trying Al’s Downtown Diner and it did not disappoint! Everything I tried was delicious! Biscuits and gravy were hot and fresh, Eggs Benedict with ham were perfectly made and I absolutely loved their hash browns! On top of good food the service was top notch! Very attentive and pleasant staff! This place has it all! Hidden gem in Ferndale!

We always try to support local establishments. This place is a hidden gem. Great food, excellent and very friendly service. Pancakes are huge and the blueberries very fresh. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything in the menu.
