I like sonic why is it closing
Visited here in July 2022. Or rather, tried to. Had never been to a Sonic before and decided to give it a try. We pulled into a parking spot, read the menu, and pushed the button to order. And waited. And waited. And waited some more. The screen said something to the effect of "We'll be right with you!" After 25 minutes, nobody had been right with us, and it was obvious they never would be. Unfortunately, during our wait the drive-thru line, which now wrapped around the building - extended to block us in. It took another 10 minutes of waiting (still nobody took our order) to convince a car behind us to wait so we could back out and leave. On the way out, we observed that all the trash bins were overflowing and trash was spread all over the parking lot. Bottom line - this location is woefully understaffed right now, and cannot provide even a basic level of service. If you absolutely MUST eat here, go through the drive-thru, but be warned it may take upwards 45 mins to an hour. As for me, I can't say I have any desire to ever try a Sonic ever again.
We order first 2 large chili tots, a Canada Dry drink, grilled cheese and a pretzel twist. We got our Canada Dry, and grilled cheese no problem. The pretzel had no dip after asking twice for it. And we got two orders of plain tots. The lady named Kayla I believe confirmed multiple times that we ordered chili tots but had no clue what that actually meant. We then got to order our chili tots after getting plain tots. Kayla then asked for tots back which I’m pretty sure isn’t allowed. The manager then gives us 5.88$ return for the tots and doesn’t realize we still don’t have chili tator tots yet, she then lets us order for two large tator tots and gives us only one after confirming there was two in the bag.
Worst “fast food” experience I’ve ever had. Literally everything that could go wrong went wrong. The microphone on the drive thru barely worked so you had to scream the order 3 times. When I finally got my order in, it took, no lie, 30 minutes to get my food. All of the food was stale and cold meaning it was just sitting there so there was no reason I had to wait. The chicken sandwich was laughable, it was a chicken tender on a bun with mayonnaise drenched on it. Also their card reader didn’t work and they came back 3 separate times saying it wasn’t working. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.
Food is great but not the place I remember the service is great but it just looks like the place is falling apart. Back then I remember they would bring your food out in roller skates it was the place to be back in the days. Thank you for sticking with the community all these years every fast food location suffers ups and downs but we always overcome those. Therefore I recommend this place to everyone! 5⭐️ You guys are doing great. Tell your employees that they are great make them feel appreciated.Thank you
Coming home late on July 21st. Ordered popcorn chicken. Had to wait at the window. Got our full order and drove away. Opened the bag with the chicken and saw 4 over burnt over crispy hard looking chunks! Couldn't chew them. Disgusted with the food.
Have never been to a Sonic before, and convinced my mom on June 27 to come give it a try. After parking in a stall and figuring out our order, pushed the "Red Button" to start my order. And then sat. And sat. And sat.Currently still sitting here, 22 minutes after arriving, and the screen just says "Red button activated. We'll be with you soon."Except they won't. There's no way now to back out because of the cars piled up behind us, blocking our exit - they wrap around the building to the drive through which we have not seen a single car leave from.What to do? I don't know. Staffing issues? Walkouts? Store closed but not posted?But you should surely never ever come to this Sonic. I don't know if we'll ever get out of here. Save yourselves!Edit: We made it out after convincing the guy behind us to pull up and let us out. On the way out, the parking lot was covered in trash. I don't know what has happened here, but they really need to consider just closing instead of letting things get this bad.
My family and I used to frequent Sonic almost every time we came down for some shopping and always enjoyed the burgers, hot dogs, slushies and shakes. But the cracks are starting to show and it's clear that this location is still dealing with effects of the pandemic and are struggling. There was a problem with every visit my family have had so far:1. Not even 2pm and they have no ice cream for milkshakes.2. Hot dogs that will take 20 minutes?3. Kids meal, they brought the wrong drink, which they corrected, but still messed up by completely forgetting the apple sauce (which was the one thing our kid was looking forward to most).I work in a similar service industry job, so I'm well aware of how the pandemic has and is still affecting everyone with supply chain issues, labour shortages and overworked staff. But it's really disappointing when three visits in a row are met with some sort of problem or disappointment. I really hope this place bounces back and recovers.
I drove an hour to take my kids to sonic for an end of school year treat (they love Sonic). They were out of some items and the sonic blast machine wasn’t working. I understand food shortages and getting people to work is hard right now, so I was willing to let that slide. We finally settled on an order where everything was available. It took over 30 minutes to get our food, and the order was completely wrong (other than the shakes that they were able to make). I sent it back, and they said they’d remake the food. Another 20-30 minutes later, they brought out the “correct” order and it was still wrong! I tried to find someone to let them know the order was still wrong (I wasn’t going to wait around again for them attempt to fix it), but they were all MIA. So unbelievable. We left completely disappointed. Also, the order was simple: a plain footlong hotdog, sonic cheeseburger with only ketchup, a regular sonic burger, and two brownie batter milkshakes. Not hard!
The staff at this location worked their butts off. Understaffed and over worked. The food took it's time but was still very delicious. My family and I ate at the tables outside. I Witnessed another patron that had many legitimate issues he brought up. The manager as well as the customer were both very civil and understanding. Manager handled it like a champ. The employees need a hand of applause and an even a bigger hand of help. Great team at the location. #sendhelp

Every time we come to this sonic something gets messed up. It is unfortunate. Either something gets left out of the bag or they are out of the items we ordered. In this latest case we ordered french toast sticks and they were out and could not give us our money back for them, only exchange them for something else of lesser value. I have never been to a restaurant where the manager cannot do a refund for part of an order. And on top everything it took 25 min to get our food,they forgot our sauce and fork, and there was a hair in my burger. I'm so done. Please fix your problems.
Everything here was great, we had food and shakes (the shakes here are AMAZING). My only issue was the fact that they had one person working out front who was taking care of drive thru and the outdoor orders so he was run off his feet but still smiling the whole time. That guy deserves a raise!
Speaker person ditched out on us in the middle of ordering. Didn’t say anything to us about being back either. We pulled up to the window to finish our oder politely, and when my boyfriend was asking if they had a certain type of soda.. they closed the window door on him! Food is 6/10 but their service is 1/10. I don’t recommend coming here if your in a rush either. This place takes its sweet time when getting everything ready for you. That’s why I rate it 1/10 ⭐️
Showed up at 7 am. Wasnt busy. Ordered a bacon toaster. A sausage toaster. A jr sausage burrito. A regular sausage burrito. The attendant was quick and efficient. She told us they didnt have the bacon toaster available. Fine. We will do without. We go to the window and wait. After 5 minutes she explains they dont have the sausage toaster available either. Now theres two of us with one jr burrito and one regular burrito cuz we couldnt waut another 5-10 minutes. No napkins. Jr burrito didnt have much flavour. Neither did the regular. Both loosely wrapped. We figure there was no seasoning on either. Good portion size. Whomever stocked this sonic left morning staff with no bacon and no sausage patties. WE wont be back.
I live here in Ferndale so I've come here a few times. I'm here now and have been sitting in the drive-thru for 22 minutes and I'm 3rd from the window. I started at the 5th car from the window. There isn't a shift that's any more efficient than the other. These guys are always EXTREMELY Slow. I get the distinct feeling that they don't care. I don't know why I come here when there's a Dairy Queen right across the street. Please do not waste your time coming to Sonic because that's exactly what it'll be, a waste of time and your food will be cold and your drinks watered down. It's now been 28 minutes and I'm still 3rd from the window.I'm adding to my review after finally getting out of there. 54 minutes from placing my order to having it all handed to me.....cold. They were not busy I might add.My review was written at around 6:15pm on March 31, 2022. I read some other reviews after I posted mine and see that someone is replying to everyone with basically the same statement, letting the franchise owner know so he or she can fix this. Some of these reviews go back 2 years ago. If it hasn't been fixed by now, it probably never will be unless there's change. It's now April 1st and I see that I have the same reply.So, dear mystery writer, I'm not disappointed as you so aggressively state. I'm disgusted at the blatant disregard to your clients concerns and someones lack of ability to fix this. But, I'll play your game and make the call to the number you provided and fill out the form that you've rubber stamped almost everyone. But if you think replying to everyones reviews impresses people, think again. You want to impress people? Fix the issues.
