Had breakfast and coffee here twice. The coffee and chai tea are only ok. The donuts were ok, not the best I’ve ever had. The cheesy frittata sandwich with the bacon jam is absolutely delish! The original bacon breakfast sandwich was just ok. The fresh fruit was very good. The restaurant is quaint and there is lots of outdoor seating.

This is one of my favorite places to eat on San Juan Island! The food is always good and the view of Roche Harbor is great. Will be back again next summer!

I wanted to love this place because of the huge menu with so many options. It is also conveniently located next to a very clean laundromat. The good news is service was fine and all the workers were friendly. Lattes suited us perfectly as we are Starbucks people. My husband enjoyed his chicken fried chicken with very nice shredded hash browns. My only complaint is that the avocado on my avocado toast was brown and tasteless. For the money they could’ve sprung for another egg and a ripe avocado. Just saying.

Lime Kiln cafe has a great ambience and even better location, and the donuts are awesome if you like cake donuts. The service is also very good. Not necessarily "above and beyond" but they were very friendly and we got our food after only about 15 minutes, very reasonable.

The problem was the food. Honestly, it was kind of a joke. It was obvious that they had some quality impacting cost cutting measures in place. The pancakes were much closer to crepes and didn't taste any better than something out of a box. They were legitimately watered down pre-mix. The ham in the omelet we ordered was just cheap, sliced deli meat haphazardly cut up. Also, the chicken in the Chicken Fried Chicken was laughably small. We joked that it actually should've been called a Chicken Fried Nugget. Also this is more of a personal gripe but they fancied up the "gravy" with rosemary and other additions. Don't do that, or if you do don't call it "country gravy". Call it a rosemary herb béchamel or something. Really though for me, none of this would be review-worthy if they didn't charge resort prices, absolutely not worth it.

We were really hopeful that Lime Kiln cafe would be good given the life-affirming beauty and ambience of Roche Harbor and their donuts are exceptional. Unfortunately, as the adage goes, it would be foolish to visit them a second time.

We just ordered clam chowder and a hot cocoa, the clam chowder was good, the cocoa was meh. I gave it 1 star because the girl that helped us insulted me. She was completely rude. It took a few minutes for anyone to even show up at the counter and we were one of 3 groups in the place. It's a beautiful little place but customer service makes the experience and it failed miserably at that.

We were staying at Roche Harbor and were able to walk to the Lime Kiln Cafe so we enjoyed a breakfast and a lunch. Ordering is done at the counter and the customer is given a number to put on their table. Then the food is brought. We enjoyed a French Dip sandwich with fries which was big enough to split. Breakfast was an omelet, toast and hash browns. Great casual place right with views of the harbor. Highly recommend.

Came in the morning for a quick coffee and donut. Donut was amazing, however they never rung up our coffees so we sat for about 20 minutes before having to ask for them. They quickly fixed the situation!

Underwhelming. We ordered the fish and chips. Fish was overcooked and probably had been frozen. Not fresh. Cole slaw was way Too sweet.

This is fish and chips - thin, dry and flavorless, more breading than fish.

Drive to Friday harbor if you can.

Went in January it wasn't busy,
Both our orders of fries were cold not sure why there was two other tables no need to rush me out some cold food. The BBQ Burger was pretty good. The hot chicken sandwich was a joke came on a ciabatta Roll, not sure why cause only half of the Roll had chicken on it. Also squeeze the coleslaw before you put it on a bun that way all the water/coleslaw juice doesn't just soak right ito the bun(Kinda like when you pat dry pickles, Before you put them on the Sandwich instead of just pulling them right out of the jar) & It was also like almost 50 bucks. I got a cup of coffee as well. All they have is sugar packets. You think bougie Roche would at least have some honey. Lastly, the whole leave a tip before you even try your food is ridiculous. Never got asked if we needed anything else or how our food was. You also have to bus your own table.

The fish & chips were mentioned on a lot of reviews, but were pretty bad. The fish was cold in the center and the fries were lukewarm. The chowder tasted like chemicals, not very fresh and the chicken salad was not spectacular. We would have left the food on the table if we weren’t starving. They seem to be doing well just because of their location, and care little for the quality of the food they’re putting out. The servers were nice, but not friendly. They did bring over the order to the table. Most the empty tables were dirty.

Such a bummer to have a bad experience here, as it was one of our favorites for a lunch to go. We got an order of chicken strips and fries, it was over $15 and we literally got 2 dried out chicken strips and one was only as long as my pinkie finger. Soooo disappointed. We also ordered a side of ranch and it was not included in our order.
