As a local and telecommuter I have really appreciated Medio Cafe this summer. Team is kind, plenty of space to set up for a spell.

Food is good to great. Coffee & tea is great to ballad-worthy.

Hoping they can stay open deep into the off-season here.

Parking is great

We stopped at this little café for lunch and had a great experience. Even on a Saturday it wasn’t too busy, which made it easy to relax. While we didn’t try the coffee, the food was tasty and they offer some healthy options along with some baked goods made in-house. The kids play area was a great touch, and the whole place had a calm, peaceful atmosphere that made it an enjoyable stop.

Tucked away in a hotel, this cafe is a hidden gem! All organic, bread made in house it was incredibly delicious!! We had the bacon and egg bagels and avocado toast with egg. Drip coffee was amazing too. Eating outside on the back patio made a great start for our day. Highly recommend!!

Cute cafe inside a hotel. They have indoor and outdoor seating and tons of kids toys to play with outside so family friendly. I had the breakfast burrito, and ugly donut, and a honey lavender matcha latte for breakfast. The donut was big but a little too doughy and bland in flavor. Tons of sugar on the outside but somehow still lacking in flavor. My kid didn't even finish it and she loves donuts with sugar lol. Breakfast burrito was delicious. Big portion and filling. Like that it came with a side of hot sauce. Oh we also had the kimbap which was not bad but nothing spectacular that I've had at Korean restaurants. The honey lavender matcha was delicious though. Love their technique and the matcha is legit.

Came back another day just for another drink. This time I got the strawberry matcha and my husband got the strawberry hojicha latte. Highly recommend both! The hojicha was earthy, smooth and so delicious. Definitely a must try if you're on San Juan Islands.

A Hidden Gem in Friday Harbor!
Medio Café is an absolute delight! The service is consistently warm and welcoming, making every visit a pleasure. Their menu is fantastic, offering something delicious for everyone, and the pour-over coffee is truly next level—smooth, rich, and perfectly brewed. Prices are very reasonable, and it’s a great spot to bring the kids, too. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in town!

I read the comments as it was the nearest place to the Hospital, so I decided to give it a try :) , I got to tell you the Chorizo Burrito has taken place on my list of favorite items ☺️, it was really nice to get the Crispy Hash brown on the side rather than within the Burrito , I don’t regret getting in at all 👍🏼✔️

Came for the Kimbap and they sold out, boo.

Breakfast and coffee were excellent. Their house made syrups were delicious. They have a play area for kiddos.

Surprisingly great food! Away from the main shopping area, so less crowded. My family loved it! We were able to eat outside with our doggo 😁. My son wanted the recipe for the breakfast burrito that he really liked, lol. Check 'em out!

Great spot! Visited several times during my recent stay on the island.

Good acai bowls and friendly staff. The salsa for the Chorizo burrito is really good as well if you like a nice hint of garlic.

I love Medio, from the high quality food and drinks to the atmosphere. Their matcha is amazing and so are their other specialty drinks which are fun and delicious. Try the kimbap, chorizo burrito, or any of their baked goods, you won’t regret it. The cafe space is amazing for San Juan. There are very few places were you can hang out on island and these guys have it going on with the vibe they’re setting up, from the decorations to the variety of nooks. There’s a fantastic fireplace and some adorable options for kids. Really great spot. I recommend it to local friends and visitors.

Wow, what a gem!! We wandered in unbeknownst to us, an hour before they closed for the season. Luckily for us, we found the best coffee of our week-long vacation to Vancouver, BC and Friday Harbor. Even more impressive, though, was the super friendly service, kind conversation, and recommendations from two locals to us tourists. We enjoyed our pour overs, and were grateful to get some donuts, lattes, and beans. Everything was out of this world! Our son loved the little play area as well. Highly recommended for anyone in need of exceptional coffee!!
