This restaurant was such a great option. The food was simply amazing, as was the service. We tried an assortment of items, including the oysters (duh), the lingcod and dungeness crap dip (get extra hungarian peppers), the waffles, the lamb (outstanding) and pork chop. I also had the "Smokeless Cigar" beverage, which was also excellent. A tryly enjoyable dining experience here on the Island.

100% will dine here again. Ashley has done a great job of creating a menu (with Chef Sawyer) that highlights the bounty of land and sea that is San Juan Island. Erin is wonderful too as a culinary guide with deep knowledge of the cuisine and spirits alikeWe can’t wait to go back ??

Our first dining experience here was wonderful! Excellent choice of wines and specialty cocktails and a somewhat small but perfect menu. I was able to find items compatible to my vegan diet by omitting the cheese from dishes and everything was fresh, artisanal and delicious! There is even a vegan dessert option. We can't wait to go back - often!

Some really interesting food options here. The waffle options were outstanding and would give any Seattle hipster restaurant a major run for their money. Will go back next time in the area. Pricing was pretty fair overall and service was pretty nice even with some silly questions on our part.

The food was fantastic (and we didn't even have the oysters). Very small but friendly dining area. Only complaint might be lack of more than a few tables (the rest is bar type seating) and the lighting was a bit bright and harsh for evening, some dimmers would go a long way. Maybe some art or decor for all the blank walls. Overall, great place

I love Oystertale, always have. The food is exceptional. The wine list and cocktail selections are as well. And the service could not be better. This tiny little place is social, beautiful, and one of my favorite places to go on the island, whether for wine tasting or dinner. I highly recommend.

We were shocked that the reviews for this place did not match our experience. Weak menu for adults and nothing for kids. Had some very average oysters and a drink - then we left for a better spot.

We stopped in here quickly waiting for the ferry. Great unassuming but chic vibe and very friendly staff. San Juan salad and smoked salmon potato were excellent. Best food I’ve had in a while coming from Seattle. Wish I could have tried more of the menu.

Pork chop was excellent, oysters were delicious, crab cakes phenomenal, sourdough bread out of this world, and blackberry cobbler was perfect! Everyone was super nice and friendly too! Do yourself a favor and stop by :)

This tiny place was really a good choice. Smaller plates to share is what they do , which worked nicely for the four of us. The salmon waffle was amazing, the dip was amazing, in fact everything was really good including the dry rose wine from Loire Valley. I had the Manhattan drink as well, but would have preferred it without the honey. Great service and pretty fast service but wasn't rushed at all. Oh, almost forgot the dessert! The cobbler was the yummiest to us. The chocolate hazelnut was delicious as well but between the two, the cobbler won out. I'm not an oyster fan but the couple of women that had them really enjoyed those as well. The seafood was very fresh . Nice splurge!

Charming little restaurant w friendly attentive service. Loved the clean modern decor but I found the overhead dinner time lighting to be way too bright to create a romantic vibe. (Why not try lowering the wattage and putting some small electric candle on each of the tables?) we told our server we wanted to share the salad yet. It came as one with no side plates until we asked. I ordered the grilled pork chop, which had great flavor w the cherries, excellent seasoning, perfectly cooked, but sadly 1/3 of the chop was pure fat so there wasn't a lot of meat. I assumed a little side of some thing, vegetable or starch would accompany the chop. I was wrong. It was just the pork chop. The potato waffle was creative but lacked flavor. The chocolate dessert was to die for! I hope the chef tweaks the menu a bit bec it is close but not quite there.
