My sister and I both ordered chai tea lattes. They were served in glass mugs and never cooled down. We drank very little since it was so hot, but what we did drink was a little watery. Disappointing. But what wasn’t disappointing was the breakfast wraps. These are huge and stuffed with flavor. We easily could have just shared one and still left full.

French toast is amazing. I suggest ordering as a side. It's full of flavor, not just on surface of bread, deep fried crispy outside, warm donutlike inside. Best I've ever had.

We noticed a line outside the day before, and went early for breakfast the following morning. We got a table without waiting, but those after us did not. Small area with lots of tables and the noise level is high. The food was really good. Everyone was very helpful, and good service. Our waitress was a little rough around the edges, but everyone else was really nice.

While staying in San Juan there are not a lot of breakfast choices. We were happy to find this place. Waited about 20 minutes for a table. Once seated we were right by the squeaky door that opened every couple of minutes. Unfortunately no one wants to shut the door as they enter or leave so my husband would have to get up and close the door each time. Food was great. The presentation very nice and we were offered ketchup and hot sauce by the young lady who delivered our food who was friendly and smiled. Our waitress was not friendly and never checked on us again except to drop the check and pick up the cash. No offer of refills on our empty glasses. I did give it 4 stars because of the food. Kitchen is doing things right!

We had a great experience. Wonderful menu with lots of vegetarian options. The guy who waited on us was awesome and substituted meat for avacado. Most restaurants would just take the meat off and charge you as if you had it, which we expected, but he through in beautiful slices of avacado. Delicious breakfast with a friendly vibe and patient, wonderful staff. He might have been the owner, but if he wasn't, I hope the owner knows how awesome of an employee he has!

This may be the only restaurant on San Juan Island that doesn't over salt the food. The food is good, but not gourmet; (presentation is basic!) Friendly, efficient wait staff. Warning: very popular and noisy. (Note: I've lived here year round for 27 years.)

We were seated immediately and our server was great. The burgers were fantastic served with fries. The club sandwich was really good too but huge. We had to take some home. Would certainly go again.

We went the Rocky Bay Cafe specifically because I wanted oatmeal, which is oddly hard to find in Friday Harbor. (I was surprised with how many restaurants offer things like chicken fried steak, which I would not expect in the PNW!). It was nothing fancy but very good. The “2 by 2” Eggs with sausage links was ok but nothing stellar. The place is small, and we found a seat easily, early on a Thursday in April. But it filled up while we were there, and it must be crazy in the summer! Service was not fast, but the server was working hard, and it felt like a friendly small town spot, with lots of locals greeted as they came in the door. We actually came back the next day too. Different server, same pace. We overheard one of the servers explain that they weren’t quite ready to take an order because they try to pace sending the orders to the kitchen so the cook can keep up. Again, not sure how they manage once the crowds arrive! Not sure it would be worth a long wait in line, but we were glad to be able to enjoy 2 breakfasts there on this trip, and I would certainly recommend this place for a good breakfast.

Located in the heart of town & less than a 10 minute walk from the ferry terminal, skip the overpriced options (unless you want to pay for the harbor view) and enjoy breakfast served all day at the Rocky Bay Cafe. Quick, friendly service, reasonable prices, good rye toast, greasy spoon standards. Can get busy; small dining room; no outdoor seating; restrooms could be cleaner; limited free 2 hr street parking. Support your local small businesses & restaurants 👍

The worse breakfast I've ever had. Flatest sausage patty I've ever seen. Small portions and the place was cold.

We followed the rules by signing in to be in line to be seated. Unfortunately, they don’t follow their own system by allowing others to stroll right in and grab a table that just was cleared off. When questioned about allowing that to happen, the response was your next. If you want to be treated like a second class citizen do go here. If not, Go to Tina’s if you wish to be treated fairly and with respect.

There were a few tables open when we arrived. We were waited on with drinks quickly. It took a few minutes to get our order taken but it arrived faster than we expected. We had the 2X2 and the eggs Benedict. Both were excellent and cooked perfectly. I dropped my purse and my husband had to use his flashlight to get my items. The edges of the wall had wax buildup but were not dusty. We would definitely return.

I won't say this was the worst breakfast I have ever had, but it was close. The waitress was great, the restaurant was clean. But the food, gross. I won't be back.
