Went in the off season end of February. Food was hot and fast! The cod was crispy and moist and the seasoning on the fried was just right. Would return if I’m in the area and need a quick casual bite to eat.

The Bait Shop in Friday Harbor seriously impressed me. The halibut fish and chips were some of the tastiest I’ve ever had, super fresh, lightly breaded, perfectly crisp, and not greasy at all. The calamari was delicious too, tender with a light fry that let the flavor shine without feeling heavy. Their tartar sauce is top-tier, rich and tangy in all the right ways, and the fries were crisp and satisfying. And whatever you do, don’t skip the clam chowder, it was creamy, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights of the meal :)

Very simple menu, but that made it quick to order and get our food. The prices felt reasonable. Some indoor and outdoor seating. If you walk around back there is a public space with picnic tables as well. Probably not as ideal on a rainy day but perfect for a dry day. Nice cheap kids soft serve which was great to keep our two year old happy. (And they have chocolate!)

It was y'alls mistake for selling cod and my mistake for buying it. No flavor, Cod is like the lettuce of meats. Everything else was great though.
