When visiting The Harbor, Gertie is a place that you must not miss. This is one of the best wine lists south of Seattle. The staff is simply phenominal and Kieran puts together an experience that must be experienced. Bravo Gertie!

I wanted to love this place because it’s less than 5 minutes from my house and appeared to be a nice spot for dinner in Gig Harbor. I have visited twice before giving this review. The place is well decorated and has all the makings for a great dining experience. However, we have had poor experiences on both visits - we felt generally unwelcome both times. The first time we visited, it took 3 staff members ~5 awkward minutes to decide where to seat us even though several tables and bar seats were available. They asked if we could sit at the bar, and gave us limited appetizer-only menus without mention of the bar not offering dinner service at that time. We left after about 20 minutes of not being served. The second visit we came on a Thursday at opening time. Again, the awkward table seating issue occurred, with only ~3 tables occupied. They asked if we could sit at the bar again, and we agreed. We were here for over an hour and a half and they had open tables upstairs and downstairs the entire time. They were out of about 1/3 of the menu including 1/2 of the entrees! I also ordered a beer, and the keg was out. The food that we ordered was good and well-cooked and the kitchen staff deserves 4 (google) stars, but it took over an hour for the food to be served. The front end staff seemed confused and untrained. In the time we were at the bar on our second visit, the record player stopped playing 3 times and the staff had to be told by guests that the music was off. We had to listen to the same Frank Sinatra album 3 times in a row!I don’t think I will give this a third try.

25 minute wait to be served after being seated and 45 minute wait for cold food all at a premium price. In response to your reply,Does your staffing issue explain that the patrons who arrived after us were served before we were. I also hope that the fact that our table was the only table that had POC at it didn't play a role, but maybe that is a staffing issue too.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Gertie’s. We ate upstairs. I had an especially delicious mushroom appetizer dish. I also had the beef Wellington. It was perfectly cooked. I will order it again. Gertie’s has a French bistro flair , friendly service and is a nice atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.

Another delicious dinner provided by Kieran and his team! The beef bolognese was so delicious, champignons was almost its own meal with such a rich variety of mushrooms, finished with a pumpkin spice cannoli drizzled with honey and a touch of salt. The cannoli shell was sheer perfection!

We arrived early and we were treated to a great table upstairs, against the railing with a view below. The service and food was excellent. A standout was the mushroom side and the bread for dipping. The menu is limited but all dishes are presented with care. The seafood medley was generous but for some reason I wasn’t expecting it to be room temp, even cool. I would definitely go back to sample other dishes.

This is one of my grandmother's favorite restaurants and every time we visit, but particularly this last time, the staff go above and beyond to make her feel special. From the friendly servers, to the chef coming out to say hello (and making one of her favorite off-menu dishes) - she walks out with the biggest smile on her face and it really is so touching to see the impact of the kindness of strangers. A huge thank you to everyone at Gertie's - visiting is such a treat and we already can't wait to come back.

Had such an amazing experience! The staff was engaging, attentive, and the food was incredible! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Gig Harbor! I will definitely be coming back whenever I visit! Sydney was one of the best servers I've had!

I really wanted to like this place, because it was recommended by so many and I enjoyed the interior, but man. What a disappointment. I wouldn’t have even minded the prices or the small portions if the food was good.We started with the mushroom appetizer which was decent, but super small portion for the price. It was very basic. Sautéed mushrooms in a sauce with some bread. I then ordered the halibut cheek which was so disappointing. The portion was laughable, but it was the taste that did it for me. I’m not even kidding you, zero salt or any seasoning of any kind on the entire dish. There was some kind of a purée on the side that tasted like celery and had zero flavor. The entire dish was so odd and just didn’t work at all. My husband said his lamb pasta was good. But even the pasta they used was so weird to me. It was regular noodles that came from a box, like what you get at the grocery store. Now to the dessert - we ordered two. The strawberry crumble and the “cheesecake”. Both were very boring and lacked so much flavor. The concept on both was great and the dishes looked so good, but the flavor was so missed. We couldn’t finish the desserts, but the server kept staring at me and I felt bad so I asked to take the desserts home with me to eat later. My husband also ordered a coffee and he said the beans were very burnt/over roasted. I got hot tea. We spent just under $200 for two people on this meal and I left hungry and disappointed.Overall, I would like to give this place a second chance one day if the menu changes. Maybe I just came on a bad day :/ I think this place is overpriced and very overhyped. The service was good and the staff was nice and I loved the decor of the interior.
