Poor quality food and employees. Stale and cold food. Will not recommend to any friends or family and please avoid. I placed a takeout order and the employee said that that they were not able to fulfill my request of half corn and half flour tortilla, it seemed weird because I have ordered this every time for the past decade. I let it go, but when I came home I saw that they messed up my order and called them back. The manager referred me to a term that is very inappropriate and derogatory. I am completely shocked because I have never been treated like that my entire life, especially a professional working manager. I asked for the same order but instead received stale and cold food. I did not want to get sick eating the food. I left the food there at the restaurant and threw it all away to avoid food poisoning. The manager did not rectify the situation did not provide any solution. I reached out on the website but there has been no response. Very disappointing. I had to drive back to the restaurant and wasted my time. I have great experiences in the past at Tacoma and Gig harbor location, but it seems like customer service has gone downhill. It’s sad to see the downhill of this restaurant. Very rude workers and great customer experience was not as it was before.

Been to this restaurant many times. This time we had Matt as our server and he made us feel like we were ar a very fancy restaurant. I tried his food recommendation and it was fantastic. Amazing service!

Don't eat here. Their staff is rude, they mess up the easiest orders consistently, and their food is ok at best. Many better places to eat with nicer and more competent staff than here.

The corn tortillas were made there but to me were too thick and had no flavor. The mole sauce also didn't have good flavor. Big piece of gristle in the chicken that was covered by the mole so I didn't know until it was in my mouth. I ordered a big blended regular margarita and it was so sweet I couldn't even finish it. Just way too sweet. On the other hand, the service was wonderful and atmosphere very fun. Perhaps I ordered the wrong dish this time. I'll try it again another day.Parking: It's not very large and somewhat difficult to navigate in and out of. I'd suggest parking in the medical center parking lot and just walking a bit farther.

Don’t expect authentic Mexican food, but if you enjoy some well made Americanized dishes and very affordable margaritas, this place is very easy to enjoy.

Moctezuma’s Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar is a small family-owned Washington restaurant chain with 4 locations. Arturo Garcia opened the first restaurant in Tacoma in 1978. He opened the second restaurant in Gig Harbor, which is the one my parents introduced me to, and that I have dined at over the years. The other two locations are Tukwila and Silverdale. The restaurants are now jointly owned by Arturo, his son Bernie Garcia, and Bernie’s mother and sister, Magdalena Garcia and Maribel Arias. Bernie Garcia took over as president in 2005. This business has won a number of awards over the years. Moctezuma’s is a favorite for both locals and visitors. My parents retired to Fox Island, Washington, in 1990. Fox Island is next to Gig Harbor. Montezuma’s was one of my mother‘s favorite restaurants. I visited with her many times over the years. Now that she’s gone, I don’t go as often, but only because I’m busy exploring new restaurants. The current Gig Harbor restaurant is in a different location than the original. It’s also much bigger and much nicer. These are pictures from my last visit. I’m always warmly greeted. I love their complementary basket of fresh chips and salsa. The salsa is some of the best I’ve ever had. I ordered a Combination plate with a Cheese Enchilada, Chile Rellano and Taco Dorado. Served steaming hot, I loved everything, except for the Chile Relleno, which is a house specialty. For dessert, I ordered Flan. I prefer flan with a more delicate texture, but it was exactly like the one served at the original location, so I assume it’s a family recipe. It’s pretty good. All in all, I had a very enjoyable meal.
