McMenamins Ahles Point Cabin

The most comfortable place to chill have a hot buttered rum and enjoy the fire... Jeremy the bartender was hands down the best!

Very nice walk south along the waterfront from the main lodge, past the amphitheater, sports courts and the new public market. They had pizza and sandwiches to eat. We enjoyed the roaring fire to warm up on a rainy day and the sandy riverside was available to do some fishing from shore.

The view is lovely, the snacks are good and the service is great! Whenever we want to get out of the city, we head there! And while we love kids, we do appreciate that Ahles is 21 and over.

Inviting little bar that is tucked away from the main McMenamins in Kalama. Perfect patio to enjoy a drink and great views of the Columbia River! Pet friendly too!

Disappointing. It was our first time there the other night, and last. I'd comment about the food, but the problem is that we didn't get any. We ordered a large pizza and one alcoholic beverage apiece and waited over an hour and fifteen minutes for our food only to find out that the kitchen hadn't made it. Our server was initially busy waiting other tables, but things died down, and she never came back to check on us. You'd think that she would've noticed us sitting there for the longest with two clean plates, and no food would've clued her in to check on us and the status of our food. That did not happen. My husband had get up from our patio seating and go inside to inquire what was happening. Only then did our server acknowledge that she indeed placed our order and the kitchen staff were at that moment putting our pizza in the oven. My husband told her to cancel the order because it was already late and we had to head home. He paid for our two drinks and we left hungry. They didn't even bother to comp our drinks or sincerely apologize for dropping the ball. Shame on them. Poor customer service, do better!!

Overall, this cabin experience was great! Downside is the distance from the main lodge and the food had to be brought over from main lodge. The wait time for the food was actually less than what was expected, which was a plus.The bar staff was friendly, he was happy to stamp anyone who came through the doors!Our water was always refilled quick. Games are available at the bar to sit and have a friendly conversation.Highly recommended.

Must say Jeremy made this place overall. He was not only friend but went the extra mile catching us on the path asking if our pups needed water. Great sunset on the patio, fire stoked and going. Patio was dog friendly. Surprised w the quality food. Small bbq chicken pizza, tots, wine beer and tip for $50…. Wouldn’t hesitate to do it over. Jeremy was attentive entire visit to all guests, despite being Friday night dinner rush, didn’t miss a step! Thank you for a great date night out
