Went the first time for lunch the other day. The exterior of the building needs repairs, but the food is great and the atmosphere inside is even better. I got more than I could eat for less than $20 that's with the tip included.

My favorite neighborhood brunch

Not a lot of places left like this around, and that makes the place special in and of itself. The staff is on point so you rarely have to wait and the food comes out nice and hot. Probably the best Country Fried steak and hash browns hands down. Old school classic, pretty easy on the wallet, lots of parking.

A Local Gem in Kenmore!
Jay Café is a charming, long-standing spot in the Kenmore area, and it truly lives up to its reputation. I came in for breakfast and was blown away by their French toast — it was delicious, perfectly golden, and had just the right balance of sweetness. You can tell they put care into their food, and the portions are generous for the price.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, giving you that cozy, neighborhood feel. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. One added bonus is the spacious parking lot behind the café — it’s very convenient and makes the visit even more stress-free.

It’s clear why this place has remained a favorite in the community for so long. I’ll definitely be back!

Little gem! Super tasty breakfast, large portions, excellent service, smooth coffee & delish chicken fried steak - servers suggestion. A real treat!

It's a small town experience but the food is tasty

With all of the growth of new and trendy restaurants in the area, this is a refreshing spot, very unpretentious. Wonderful service and very much a classic "greasy spoon" down home cafe. The biscuits with whipped butter and honey are wonderful. There are breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.

Great cafe with a local hometown feel. We always have breakfast here with a rather large group, and the service and food quality are never lacking. Melissa was great and very helpful and efficient. Looking forward to our next breakfast visit.

Not impressed with the food for the price. The French toast tasted great but for $10 came with literally nothing else. Children's smile pancakes looked great but had lots of sugar. Whip cream, maple syrup and colored sprinkles. The children's at least came with bacon or sausage.

Parking: Park anywhere around the building.

Kid-friendliness: Very kind towards children.

Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs.

Jay's is a great local diner that feels like home. Before my Dad's (Mike) passing he was a fixture there for years, who went there probably daily. Anytime I would come up to visit him he'd say let's go down to Jay's. Yesterday I wanted to take my stepmom to lunch so we went and I had the salmon Caesar salad. It was amazing. Jay's is great, and the waitress Annie is always so sweet.
