The staff and food are good. The building itself needs repair.

Very friendly staff, food came out quick. Could use a little improvement on food quality but was still delicious. Good price point for their meals, would recommend to others and most likely will come back for more.

I ordered the same meal two days in a row, clearly because I liked it first day, however the second day, today it was so disgusting and inedible. I will never eat here again. Problem is the second day I bought for my family and wasted so much money on a poor quality day or poor quality cook

Generally no wait, servers are nice and attentive. Lots of parking and very conveniently located. Food is mediocre. I have tried a lot from the menu. Flavor profiles are consistently bland.

Unfortunately I have to give a low score because the cooks choice in using pizza sausage versus breakfast sausage for the biscuits and gravy is unpleasant

Tried Jay's for the first time the other day - great food, hardworking and attentive servers and nice ambience!

When my wife and I were getting ready to move to Kenmore we drove past Jay's several times, wondering if it was still operating or not! Oh boy, is it ever! We finally got to go to breakfast there the other day and were not disappointed. My wife's blueberry pancakes were spot-on, and my Breakfast Sampler was a bargain at $14. Sure, the $1 hollandaise tasted like ... well, $1 hollandaise ... lol! But every other element of the dish was really good! We'll be back - very soon!

Went the first time for lunch the other day. The exterior of the building needs repairs, but the food is great and the atmosphere inside is even better. I got more than I could eat for less than $20 that's with the tip included.
My favorite neighborhood brunch
Not a lot of places left like this around, and that makes the place special in and of itself. The staff is on point so you rarely have to wait and the food comes out nice and hot. Probably the best Country Fried steak and hash browns hands down. Old school classic, pretty easy on the wallet, lots of parking.
A Local Gem in Kenmore!
Jay Café is a charming, long-standing spot in the Kenmore area, and it truly lives up to its reputation. I came in for breakfast and was blown away by their French toast — it was delicious, perfectly golden, and had just the right balance of sweetness. You can tell they put care into their food, and the portions are generous for the price.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, giving you that cozy, neighborhood feel. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. One added bonus is the spacious parking lot behind the café — it’s very convenient and makes the visit even more stress-free.
It’s clear why this place has remained a favorite in the community for so long. I’ll definitely be back!
