Happy At the Bay Teriyaki

Normal I do not do reviews nor am I a conformational person. But recently I went to dine in at happy at the bay, mind you I’ve been eating here for YEARS ever since I was little, just recently I had such a rude encounter with one of the employee, an elderly asian lady. I order and I go to pay my card declines, I check my card is locked, I unlock it, declined again, I question to myself why if I have the funds by this time it had declined twice. As I’m quickly figuring it out, I look to notice the lady is visibly annoyed, and tosses both receipts that show that it didn’t go thru at me. I ask her what’s with her attitude and all she says with an attitude is “well it didn’t go through” as she scoffs at me and rolls her eyes. Mind you there was nobody in the shop at that time so I wasn’t holding anyone up I wasn’t there anymore than 2 mins bc I usually order the usual. I tell her I was working on it and atp she just looks more annoyed and atp I confront her and tell her I don’t appreciate her attitude and that she’s too grown to be acting this ignorant and I leave. As I leave and go into my car I notice a heavy set guy from the kitchen walk out the kitchen into the diner and stare us down out the window. Mind you I have also heard she charges for tea when it has been known to be complimentary, and has had multiple complaints against her. It’s so frustrating considering I’ve dine here for years and enjoy the food and have had no other issue with the other lady. At this point that elderly lady needs to retire.

I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve always got the dressing on the counter. Lately when I order over the phone and come in the dressing is not there and the lady at the counter says there is no more but I can pay for some. So I do. Next time I order over the phone same issue. So this time I come In to order and it’s there, the lady says are you going to get dressing? I say yes, she says you have to pay for it. I said it’s complimentary. She said only to people that eat here. I said but it’s not at the tables is on the side for anyone to get. She proceeds to say “if you don’t like you don’t have to eat here” and decides she’s not going to take my order. No one else in this place treats me like this but the short lady. And I’m tired of it. I have had others come in and do the same thing and not be treated this way. I’m over it. I will be filling a complain with the BBB.

I walked in and they had a certain plate advertised and when I went to order, they didn’t have the plate anymore. So I ordered the beef and chicken plate. When it came out, it looks good. I started eating the beef and it was bad. It was very rank. The lady at the counter argued with me that it was not bad. I tried to be as nice as I could. She rolled her eyes and was very like I don’t care. The chicken and the rest of it was good, but the beef was old and she would not back down so I give this place thumbs down

$17 for convo fried rice and this is the shrimp you get ☹️ love the other two locations this was my first home at this one and definitely the last. Rice was not flavorful I was genuinely upset as I thought this location would be the same quality and it's far below.Service and atmosphere a

Great service great people grateful it's a place to take your first date and the atmosphere is just right forgetting to know somebody why you're having dinner or lunch

Really bad experience never again didn't get what I ordered had to go back she give me attitude did not want to give me my money back.Because what I wanted was actually less.Then they did not give me the sauce for it.I'd go back in.It was a pain in the butt.And my meat was barely sauced.Really bad service.Never going back ever again

Normally ther service was good but lately the lady hasn't been listening to my orders. I'm not sure if its communication issue or its a different person but yeah.

If you have kids please don’t come to this restaurant as the lady was being rude and getting frustrated that there was kids in the restaurant!

As mentioned by many other customers, food is good, customer service is pretty horrible. First time here and already got a bad experience with the lady working the front. Pretty rude, blames everything on the customer, and tries to get as much money out of you as possible. I heard Wild Ginger Teriyaki is really good, probably worth the extra 8-10 min. drive just for the customer service.

Small place with friendly staff. The pork teriyaki was excellent and the chicken teriyaki was better than most others that I've had before. Good portions for the price, tasty food and a small no frills seating area with several tables, family-friendly seating.
