I finally went and they did not disappoint. If you haven’t been, go. If you’re thinking about going, go. If you’ve been before, go again. Food is exceptional and not over seasoned or super heavy. Kyan the Chef is extraordinary!I’m not religious so I could do without the worship music blaring over my conversation.

I came here at 7:45 and the customer service is horrible. The young lady only took half of my order. Even after I asked her twice. I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for the other order. I didn't leave the place until 8:45 and to top it off I couldn't wait inside I had to sit in my car the entire time. Never again, I am done. The food was okay at best and way to expensive.

The food was absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were amazing for the price point. You can tell it's a family and labor of love in the cooking.

Brother n law suggested and brought me here on his dime and it was my first time eating here. This review is for the owner/management to consider taking the time to identify gaps or inconsistencies of who or what is causing customer concerns regarding the quality of food when mentioned in reviews. Pics in the reviews show different mac and cheese consistency and covers texture and the TASTE of other menu items. As African Americans the main thing we like to pride ourselves on is flavor when it comes to food.Is it the cook's? Is it the choice of ingredients? Is a combination of both?I'm just a customer providing honest feedback. I am not looking to gain ANYTHING from this, just providing unbiased feedback that the yes man/women, friend or the family may be afraid to say or address. Man, I didn't want to let my brother n law know how I really felt because he talked highly so I know there's a good reason this place is still around.I ordered:2Main, 2side = $30*2Main*CHICKEN- it doesn't specify dark or white (I was given 4 nice sized wings). Maybe I overlooked if it is mentioned.CATFISH- it doesn't specify type like filet, nuggets, fried, baked).*2Sides*MAC N CHEESEFRIES*Cashier- young lady was easy to talk too, patient and provided good overall customer service. I would suggest smiling and a little engagement.*Atmosphere- 4 to 5 tables for in-house dining. They take reservations and one table was reserved so we had to seat ourselves in a less pleasing location. RESTROOM near exit door housed around 4 hand sanitizer stations, the soap dispenser did not work. The overall cleanliness of the establishment was acceptable as there was someone cleaning tables round the clock.*FOOD- Overall disappointment. With exception of the nuggets (few pieces had bones so be mindful), everything else was bland. Mac and cheese is the absolute main dish at home and at any establishment for me and for it to have NO FLAVOR, LIKE IT WAS MADE with white cheese and drizzled with pepper is all I saw and not enough cheese consistency bringing it almost to looking dry.At the end of the day I hope management is asking everyone employed "what would NANA say?" To make sure her legacy stays rich and continues to thrive.May the most high continue to bring joy, love and wisdom in all things!Parking: Parking can be a challenge depending on the time of day as this establishment is one of about 10 in this space.Wheelchair accessibility: There is handicap parking and access to enter this establishment which is floor level.

First time going here and got the catfish, mac&cheese, and potato salad. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal! Service was amazing really reminded me of that famous southern hospitality. While I enjoyed the catfish and potato salad, the mac and cheese was the standout dish. There's a lot of different styles and ways of making mac & cheese and Nana's SK recipe really vibed with me and scored among my top places for mac & cheese. Sorry for no pics of food but I rather focused on eating it.

Ordered for takeout. $56 for oxtails, a main with 2 sides -- fried shrimp, mac n cheese, candied yams, corn bread and lemonade.Oxtails for $18 is WILD. But then I got a small handful of meat in a tiny container... no rice?Shrimp was alright. They didn't even give me the sauce I ordered. Mac and cheese was terrible. It tasted like buttered noodles that were over cooked. Candied yams are the only reason I gave more than 1 star. The corn bread literally crumbled into DUST.Won't be back.

The food her was mediocre. I'm sure the non patrons of color will enjoy this, but being born and raised in the South (South Louisiana to bring specific) this is just OK soulfood. I had greens, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, and cornbread. The cornbread was garbage. The greens were tasty, but everything else was just mediocre. I definitely will not be returning mostly because the terrible attitude from the little girl upfront and the quality of food..it's not worth driving that far out.

Kyan made me & my friend feel super comfortable & like family for our first visit at the Kent location. The fried chicken wings were cooked to greatness, cooked all the way & still juicy, good with or without sauce! Yams were yammin, sweet tea was great & sweet. Greens & cabbage were flavorful & balanced. Will be back again for surely!

Not going to lie, this place is a hit or miss, its rarely consistent. I tried the oxtails today for the first time and I must say I'm a bit disappointed... There were tender, the portion was also good, but they were extremely too salty... the mac N cheese was very oily and had hard pieces throughout (not good for someone who wears braces) Usually the kool aide is bussin! Today, not so great.I think they have potential, but consistency is key. This isn't to bash them, but I just wanted to be honest. I love the concept overall and the family aspect of the business though!
