Unbelievable! The quality of the nigiri and sashimi was unbelievable. Ordered the 14pc chef nigiri special, premium kaisen don, uni and spicy salmon roll. My wife and I recently ate at Shiro’s in Seattle and Sushi Kaunta puts them to shame with respect to quality, flavors and value. The chef is sourcing his fish from Alaska, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, and Japan. Just unbelievable!

We drove all the way from Seattle to Kent to try Sushi Kaunta, and it was worth the trip. The chef prepares everything in advance, so you place your order when making the reservation. The sushi and chirashi don were outstanding, and the inari sushi with scalops was incredible. We wanted more. The chef made a couple of extra pieces made with seabass and another white fish, which were excellent. They offer some great mini sake bottles too. Keep in mind that you might not be able to add additional large dishes becauss the chef prepares exactly what has been ordered when making a reservation. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Highly recommend checking out Sushi Kaunta. Chef was kind and attentive, and provided the most delicious and delicate nigiri. The fish was fresh and melts in your mouth. My friend and I ordered the Chefs Choice 14 piece nigiri. I can’t wait to go back and try again. 100/10!

This place is a hidden gem. Just a few tables, a quiet atmosphere, and incredible attention to detail. The chef sources everything thoughtfully — Hokkaido uni, Norwegian trout, and other seasonal fish that really shine. It’s not a “fancy” omakase and there are no gimmicks — just really good, traditional sushi done right. The kind of spot you stumble upon once and immediately want to keep to yourself. Perfect for a calm, intimate dinner with amazing sushi and zero pretense.
If you can, help them out by booking on Wednesday or Thursday nights — it’s worth making the trip on a weekday.

With a simple non descript black and white sign outside in an old aging building, in Kent of all places, you will find the best sushi experience in the Seattle area. A true hidden gem in Kent open only 4 days a week. They release reservation time-slots every two weeks and is based on reservations only. They also only take one group at a time which makes it a super unique sushi experience whether it's with your significant other, family or a group of friends! No need to travel all the way to Seattle for good sushi anymore We got the 14 pcs chefs choice and each piece was so delicious and some nigiris had pickled wasabi on top! Not the best at fish names so I couldn't remember all the pieces when Chef Sean kindly explained it to us but regardless each piece was amazing. Most chirashi dons are about the same here and there but this bara chirashi don was definitely different was blown away with the flavor. Even the tamagoyaki on top is made by Chef Sean and isn't overly sweet like most but more savory which I loved. we also tried a uni from Canada and some from Hokkaido. Personally loved the uni from Canada-much sweeter and superr creamy not too much ocean flavor.

All of the fish is flown in from all over the world and is the absolute best top notch quality. Follow his IG to see when reservations drop. You’ll have to book a couple weeks out but it’s worth the wait! You’ll preorder your food while making a reservation as well.
Other notes: pretty easy to find street parking in this area of Kent, we’ve never had an issue. Enter right at your reservation time, no earlier. It’s an intimate space best for couples and small groups.
