Really good quality food made by the students there, and at less than half the price I’d pay elsewhere. Highly recommended. Go enjoy a delicious meal while supporting these hardworking students!

We love the restaurant

A perk of working at LW Tech is having access to this restaurant run by the culinary program. Every week there are new specials. There are salads, soups, entrees, sandwiches and hot items from the grill. Everyone who works there is courteous and prompt. So far I've enjoyed everything I've ordered, particularly the salads. Right now the sitting area is closed due to COVID but hoping it will open up in the near future to get the full experience. Everything is take out currently. I've never had to wait longer than a few minutes to get my food. The prices can't be beat. Overall, I would highly recommend eating there if you have a chance!

The food here is prepared by students in the culinary program at LWTech. It's reasonably priced, perfect for a college student. I ordered the grilled salmon which also has rice, some dill sauce, and veggies. It was really good! I got my food to-go but I waited for about a good 10 minutes before it got served to me. But again, the food is prepared by students in training. Maybe next time I'll call to order, although the menu on their website is different than what they actually serve because it changes every week. Should still have the current menu on the website though so there aren't any confusions. I would still go here again when I'm craving something. However, I think it's wonderful that the culinary students get an opportunity to serve their community and gain the skills they need when they start their career.

I'm a roast this toast on a post. Eat so much, I can barely make jokes. Little did he know, he's a most.....reputation for making doughs.

Great value for delicious food. $7.95 for flat bread or a full size salad topped with seared ahi tuna cooked perfectly. While some dishes were slightly overdone, the instructors do their best to catch these. Overall, a very enjoyable meal. Service can be slow and curt but that's expected from a group in training. Can get crowded and it's a very long walk from any of the parking lots too.

Best food on campus by a long shot. Food is prepared and served by culinary students. The menu changes quarterly. Always several good options. I had the butternut squash salad and split the turkey panini with a friend. The sandwich was served with a side of deep fried "stuffing balls" which were crispy and unique along with a nice cranberry sauce for dipping! The restaurant doesn't open until the third week of the quarter so call ahead to confirm they're open

This is a student operated restaurant inside Lake Washington Technical Institute. I am a student at the school so I stop in here in quite frequently for lunch. This is a great place for lunch even if your not a student here. The menu seems like a bistro style restaurant menu and the quality of food is great. They use good fresh ingredients and the menu rotates each school quarter and is based on what is in season. This quarter I've been partial to the steak sandwich with horseradish aoli and chimchurrie sauce, and the boneless braised beef in a red wine reduction sauce on a bed of cheesy polenta. The service is good, but these are students who are learning all the aspects of the restaurant business so sometimes it's evident they are still learning. It can be weird to think of eating at a school restaurant and not being a student, but don't let that de ture you this place is really good.

This is a restaurant that's run by the culinary program at LWTech. The students work in the restaurant- cooking, serving..etc There's specials in addition to their usual menu. Don't know if it changes weekly or daily. The prices are great and very reasonable, you can get a burger and fries for less than 9 bucks. As a student, I eat here when I have a long break between classes. The tips go back into the culinary program, so it's a nice way of supporting the program. My only issue is that on their menu it's states that they have truffle fries, which the second time I ordered them, I was told it was a mistake and they don't have truffle fries. And I received the same fries I ordered the previous week when I ordered truffle fries. Anyway I knew something was off the first time, but it would be nice to either fix the menu or tell people right off the bat they don't have truffle fries.

If you live or work in the Kirkland, Totem Lake area, this restaurant is a must try! Located in the East building of Lk. Washington Institute of Tech. this restaurant is completely run by it culinary students, so be a little understanding if service is a little flawed. But the food is what I would call upscale bistro at McDonald prices! Enter the school at the east entrance and head down to the ground level of the east building, wed, Thurs or fri from 11 to 1:30 during any school quarter and you won't be disappointed!

I've been a student at Lake Washington Institute of Tech. for a little over two years now, but I've only just stared going to the Chef City Grill for about two quarters. How I wish I'd started going sooner, just the thought of eating at their cafeteria gives me the willies... the willies!!! The resturaunt is located sort of in the middle of the school, but can be easily found if you park in the Tech Building lot. It's connected to the East Building, right down the from the cafeteria (shiver...). The food is very well priced since they aren't trying to earn money but simply break even. Chef City Grill is esentially a class and every person that works there is either a student or instructor. And because of that they all work very hard to make you happy. Occasioanlly they might seem a little nervous or forget things but hey, cut them a little slack, they are still learning. The instuctors there are especially nice, and will remember you if you come often, like they do me. (Even the students that work there will remember you) And they absolutly love it if you come regularly. Seriously. I feel like whenever I come in I'm showered with love and appreciation (sometimes free food too, on several occations). I literaly look forward to the days I eat there just because I know how happy they will be to see me. Ego boost? Yes please, and thank you very much! When I go I usually, but not always, come alone for my lunch break and sit at the bar. I always end up being served by and talk with the Chef and Hospitality Instuctors. They are both very nice and will always come and make sure that your meal is to your liking and that you are happy. I appreciate that. The food has always been very delicious, well prepared and very, very quick. I've never had a bad meal. They also have weekly specials where they try more unusual fare and new recipes. I prefer these, and order from that menu when they have it. This place is also much better than any other resturaunt around the the Totem Lake area, and if you're in the neighborhood please go and try it out. I recomend this place whole-heartedly. It's inexpensive, great tasting, and eating there helps the students in the culinary program. And on the way out, don't forget to stop by the bakery that's run by fellow students as well. They have half priced goodies every Thursday ;)
