We only ordered kitchen specials and hot items as this is only place I know that had oyakodon on the menu. The cook I think doesn't know how to cook and may not be familiar with Japanese cuisine. Oyakodon only had chicken and eggs and was missing the critical 3rd ingredient (out of 3) the onions! We also ordered the steak medium rare (the check clearly shows med r) and it was extremely well done. Maybe even pre-made and nuked in the microwave? Well, that's how it tasted at least. It was fairly unappetizing at that point. We ordered right around 4:45 so there were very few other orders so there's really no excuse for these mistakes. Can you imagine if it was during a busy time?Sushi may be ok, but stay clear of the cooked foods!

Favorite sushi restaurant ever! Such high quality fish and good portions. The creamy maguro is my favorite roll in the world.

Rolls fell apart when you touch them. Miso soup was overpowered with salt. Do not recommend.

Very nice and cozy dinning room with a sushi bar. Service was flawless.Menu was nice and all the rolls we ordered came out quick and looked BEAUTIFUL. My only complaint is the dishes lacked that umami flavor I really enjoy with Sushi and other Japanese dishes.Maybe I'm being picky, but there was a brown sauce that was poured on 4 of the 5 rolls we ordered that was extremely sweet. (I want to say it was Unagi but it was so sweet I wasn't sure)My favorite roll is typically "the Dragon roll" or Eel with Unagi and fish, I typically get one almost every time I go for sushi.I was shocked at how sweet it was, almost like they had used Oysters sauce in place of the Unagi. The first few bites were delicious but the sweetness kept building and eventually made the rolls sort of a chore to finish.I typically like more Salty, bold, Umami "yummy" flavored rolls so I was disappointed with these as I had to supplement every bite with left over gyoza sauce and the table soy sauce. My pallet is obviously not the final say in flavor but I would only recommend the Sushi Rolls if you like them in the sweeter side.We orderedGyoza (phenomenal filling and the sauce was perfect)Fire starter roll (the best one that tastes the most like clean fish sushi)Dragon roll (way to sweet)Crunchy roll (way to sweet)Salmon king roll (2nd best of the list)Spider roll (extremely bland unfortunately)Mizo soup was also very tasty.Over all it was still a delicious lunch, just a little to sweet for my preference.

Oto Sushi is my new go-to in Kirkland! It's conveniently near Juanita Park with easy parking. They do lunch and dinner, offering everything from sushi to comfort grub like rice bowls. Inside, it's chill with plenty of seats – never had to wait, even during peak times. The service rocks; they bring out drinks and edamame right away, a cool touch. Lunch is our vibe for the wallet, but dinner has more choices. Fish isn't super fancy, but it beats conveyor belt joints or places in the same price zone. The salmon passes our taste test.Love that they don't overload the nigiri with rice, letting the fish shine. Soy sauce isn't crazy salty, and the free miso soup has a sweet kick. Rolls come in different price ranges, and they're worth it. Our top pick is the King Salmon roll. They're quick with the food – no long waits. We usually drop around $20 per person for lunch. Overall, Oto Sushi nails it with a sweet location, reasonable prices, a mix of options, and tasty bites. Perfect for a laid-back sushi fix!

First time trying blue fin tuna and they hit it out of the park! Exceptional service, fantastic rolls, and all for an extremely justified price. Would absolutely recommend the fire starter roll for your spicy tuna and blue fin tuna fix!

Not impressed. Atmosphere and food were very bland and basic: open room, bright, no ambiance. We had a variety of standard rolls (rainbow, dragon, etc.) and it was all fresh but very monotonous. The food wasn't plated correctly based on who ordered, either. I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt - maybe it was just an off-day, it happens!Parking: Parking spaces throughout Juanita Village.

I loved Oto Sushi Redmond, and then, when Kirkland location opened, loved the Kirkland location as well. Somehow I haven't visited it for a while (since COVID to be more precise) and a couple of days ago remembered about it and decided to stop by. I wasn't sure about working hours, so I opened the location information on Google maps and... saw how many 1-star ratings the place recently got - most about the quality of the service. I felt very sorry that such a nice place ended up getting so much worse and almost decided to go somewhere else instead, but ultimately still went to Oto - I had to see it with my own eyes. And I am very happy that I did. NONE of the stuff I read in the recent negative reviews turned out to be true. Although I came long before the closing hour so I cannot attest to comments of the type "they didn't want to seat us 30 min before closing".Fish was the freshest, rolls were tasty - as always before that. Now to the service - we were seated immediately, served with hot tea and edamame within 1-2 minutes of being seated. Once we were ready to order, it was taken right away and we started receiving our food (some were brought a little earlier, some a little later) maybe within 10 minutes or so. During our time there (30-40 minutes) we were approached by 3 different members of staff checking on us - the tea was added twice (as soon as someone saw our mugs were not full), we were asked if we liked the food and everything was ok, whether we wanted anything else, the check was also brought immediately as we wanted to pay and the receipt came in less than a minute after. The staff was attentive and caring, everything was smooth and quick. I'm happy to see the good old Oto Suchi exactly as I remember it from several years ago.

I think this Japanese place is really good, and I've been to quite a few in Washington. This restaurant is very well priced for the quality of the food you get. Everything I ate was delicious, and even things I normally don't care for were good. I'll be coming back here for sure! The only thing I didn't care much for was they we're playing the news on the TVs, and I don't think it's an appropriate thing to have on. I'd rather see a travel channel or something wholesome. It's not a huge deal, though. The other thing I noticed is that they need to dust the wood panels above the sushi bar. It's really whatever, but definitely noticeable and should be handled.

Excellent food! Poor service!! My wife's teppanyaki dinner came nearly 20 minutes after my nigiri sushi was delivered. Then, our fried banana ice cream dessert was delivered within minutes of her dinner. I brought this up to the waiter. His explanation was that they we're closing soon. He offered no apology. There was plenty of time with 42 minutes left before closing! The desert was a melted mess within minutes. We slopped together on our forks to eat while the hot dinner dish quickly cooled down. Oh well, it was a "expensive" $80 dinner with a cheap dining experience but not worth the price or returning.
