The food tasted good, but I wish there was more gravy on the loco moco. There wasn’t enough to enjoy with the rice, so it felt a little dry. Hopefully next time they can be a bit more generous!
I ordered the seafood combo with beef short ribs and the bbq mix plate with chicken and kalua pork. The shrimps breading was crispy but the shrimp was over cooked. The fish breading was ok and the fish was juicy but super salty. The short ribs were over cooked and the fat wasn’t rendered, the flavor was ok. The chicken was juicy but the skin was chewy, it was lacking flavor. The pork had good flavor but was super dry. The portion sizes and prices for everything was good.
Huge amounts of food. The mac salad was fantastic. Prices are excellent. The food is a little salty but with the plain rice it’s perfect. We got bbq beef, kalua pork and cabbage, and chicken katsu for entrees and all were great examples of quick, fresh Hawaiian food. The pork and cabbage was the clear winner. The spam musubi is one of the best I’ve had, too.
