Wonton soup, all the dumplings came apart so that it was more of soup with noodles and bits of meat. The meat pieces were not flavorful and tasted old. It lacked flavors of wonton soup!

Fantastic wonton soup!

Was warned it was a 20 minute wait but ended up being 1 hour. Some food was ready but wasn’t given to us and thus was lukewarm when we got it.

Only two employees clearly overwhelmed. Lots of food microwaving with a very mediocre result.

Almost $20 for microwave broccoli, overcooked rice, and microwaved pork belly and beef is ridiculous. I could have made the entire meal at home faster and for less money. The girls at the counter are nice, but I literally saw them microwave the food then hand me my bowl (and forgot to give me any utensils). The quality is very low.

It's rare I can enjoy something lower carb or gluten free (unofficially) and also tasty when out with friends. I love that dumpling generation has their bowls and oh my gosh is the meat tender and full of flavor. The folks are always nice and the bubble tea is great!

I haven't had their dumplings yet, but a friend brought me their zhajiangmian and it is excellent.

The noodles are thick, chewy, and plentiful. The sauce seems to be the Chinese style (which, in my experience, means a bit more douchi flavor, notably saltier, and a bit less sweet), and there was enough to evenly coat every noodle. The pork, which sometimes gets lost at the bottom of the bowl, was minced finely enough to distribute throughout the noodles as you eat.

I've been chasing this flavor for years, and I will definitely be back for more.

Dumpling Generation, located inside the Town Center at Lake Forest Park, offers a selection of handmade Chinese dumplings (chicken, pork, beef, egg or vegan), steamed pork buns, rice bowls, and soup noodles. Most dishes are priced between $10-$20. I loved that the noodles and dumplings are made from scratch — the texture and flavor are great, and you can taste the freshness.

The staff were very friendly, but when I ate here recently, there were a few downsides...

The dumplings are served on a paper plate instead of in a traditional steamer basket, which caused them to dry out quickly and stick to the paper liner. This made them a bit difficult to eat. They also don’t offer the classic fresh ginger with vinegar and soy sauce for dipping, which is needed to enhance the dumpling’s mild flavor. (If they made a few adjustments, the dumplings would be fantastic!)

We also got the pork belly soup noodles to go, and I appreciated they boxed the noodles separate from the broth so they didn’t get soggy. I don’t think this kind of food travels very well, but my daughter still enjoyed it.

They also offer a selection of hot teas and iced milk teas. We got the taro blended milk tea with boba but it was chalky and isn’t something I’d likely order again.

Despite these minor drawbacks, the food was still good, and it’s a convenient spot to grab a meal when you're at the Town Center or visiting Third Place Books.

Over-priced, under-seasoned. I’ve tried this place multiple times as I work nearby and really want to like it but I’m finally giving up. Not worth your time or money.

Wonton soup was so delicious, comforting, hot, and filling. The flavor was perfectly gentle with the bit of cilantro and green onion giving it grassy complexity. If you want a little more salt, I added a splash of soy sauce. Thank you!

We've tried them twice and NEVER AGAIN. Way over priced frozen dumplings, steamed that somehow take 20 minutes to be ready. Both times. Same experience. Bad service. Mediocre food. Too much money.

First time here and definitely the last. Had the beef bowl -- the beef was cheap fatty chuck that was too gristley to chew. The rest of the bowl was 2" deep of mushy rice. And for this they charge $18! ?
