I’ve been coming here since it was LJ’s (before they moved), and as far as I know, The Pines is still under the same ownership as LJ's. Unfortunately, over the last six months, things have really slipped. The food quality just isn’t what it used to be.. especially given the price point and the reputation of having such a great chef behind it.
The chicken wings, once a huge highlight, have gone downhill. It feels like the supplier may have changed, and the care in preparation just isn’t there anymore. Cocktails are still good, but even those have become a bit inconsistent lately.
I’m not sure if the owners/managers have shifted priorities, but something’s changed. Please either raise the standard back to where it was, or adjust the prices to match the current experience.

We had such a wonderful experience at The Pines…I can’t say enough good things, especially about our waitress. She was an absolute sweetheart from start to finish: warm, attentive, and full of amazing recommendations. She checked in on us over 10 times (but never in an annoying way, just genuinely thoughtful) and made us feel so taken care of the entire evening.
We started with the smoked deviled eggs, and wow…packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. For my main, I had an arugula steak salad , and it was cooked to absolute perfection, tender, juicy, and seasoned just right.
And let’s talk cocktails. I ordered the “Through the Trees” and highly recommend it. Whiskey, well-balanced, and such a unique flavor profile. I’d come back just for that drink alone.
Between the cozy vibe, incredible food, and top-tier service, this spot is officially on my favorites list. Can’t wait to come back!

I never write reviews hardly ever unless it’s beyond good! Or horrible services. We brought two kids with us (asked for plain hamburger only ketchup) not once but twice. They were served meatloaf burgers that were spicy. We complained, the waiter said sorry gave us the machine to pay and walked away. This waiter was so unprofessional, she obviously hated her job. She checked on us 1 times after we ordered or food (to bring us our food) and to pay. The hospitality wasn’t there. Everything is very cheap, and definitely not a fancy clean atmosphere. We walked out paying almost $200. Mined you the menu is small, no kids menu, please don’t waist your money on the place. I know Lake Stevens doesn’t have many options! But this place isn’t worth it! We have barely paid that price at a fancy restaurant when we go out and we have been many places!

All the girls go there for 'flight night' (Thursdays) and the waitresses are all AMAZING! They have a great happy hour menu and delicious food. Highly recommend!

A terrible establishment horrific customer service our first time to the place treated terribly had the door slammed in our face when asking when they opened and when calling cut off by the manager clearly not interested in customer service or active listening which is a terrible trait of a manager

Had never been in here before and decided to swing in with my son for some dinner. Customer service immediately on point. We were sat promptly and our server was Carly / Karli? She gave us the full rundown and was friendly & efficient. I tried the pot pie even though I was looking for a burger, but I had no idea what was going to be available. We also got an order of smoked deviled eggs. The food exceeded our expectations for sure. The service was absolutely friendly, informative and we will definitely be back. Glad we found this gem!

We were squeezed into a small corner and served stale popcorn with Indian spices. The menu is odd. We ordered our cocktails, came out unbalanced and disgusting for $40. We will l not be coming back.
