Fantastic steaks but limited selections. They had several appetizers like warm sardines that Diane loved. Unique vegetables served with the meat platter that were actually pickled! They paired well with the perfectly prepared New York and filet steaks. Mashed potatoes and a cold vegetable dish was also brought out that we enjoyed. A Basque style cheesecake was an end to a delicious meal.
My husband and I dined here for our wedding anniversary tonight. While the food was exceptional, the service (from Erin) was not. She was not engaged, did not ask what temperature we wanted our steaks, did not even ask the size. She assumed we wanted the smallest cut (she actually said this to us after we asked). The steak (we had the cote de bouef) was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, the sides were great as well (we had the potatoes and carrots).
Simple and top quality ingredients, passion for excellent cooking, and great hospitality make this a winner for me. Don’t skip the Escabeche if you like anything pickled-it’s was so good!! And a super delicious steak cooked perfectly with a little charred lemon was actually the best I’ve had. Adding it to our return list when we visit again in the winter.
