I stumbled across Hama Hama by chance during a road trip and am incredibly glad we decided to stop. This was one of the most memorable lunches of our entire journey.
The food was outstanding – fresh, local, and prepared with great care. Sitting in one of the cozy outdoor cabins, with a fire burning right by the water, created a truly unique atmosphere. Even on a rainy day it felt special! I can only imagine how beautiful it must be in the sunshine.
If you’re passing through the area, do yourself a favor and stop here. An unforgettable experience and an easy recommendation.

Quintessential Pacific Northwest dining experience. Grab some oysters and sit at a picnic table beside Hood Canal.
Propane lanterns on the table remind me of camping as a kid.
Seafood chowder tasted very fresh.
We loved sampling 3 different types of oysters. Non alcoholic Micheladas were a great accompaniment.
We will be back.

This restaurant was an absolute find! Talked away on Highway 101 with a cool name like Hama Hama this restaurant has it all! Delicious food, incredible view, natural unique ambiance!
You said outside under some cover at picnic tables and eat the most delicious oysters, mussels looking out on Hood Canal with a bald eagle perched on a tall tree. Even grilled cheese sandwich was out of this world! The food was so good that I forgot to even take a picture of it before I ate it all! Highly recommend!

Beachfront dining in simple A-Frames overlooking Hood Canal. Get a reservation if you can. If you aren't able to get reservations, there is a walkup bar and food truck which share a seating area. The last option is to get a bucket of oysters which you can schuck DIY. You get gloves, a knife, and a little tutorial from staff. Don't miss it when the sun is out.

We had the most perfect weather day, so it made the experience even more fantastic. We were there mid-May, so not the Summer crowds yet, but it was still busy. The oysters were delicious. The coleslaw is worth trying, and we also had the house pickles. Everything was great. Highly recommend a visit. Make sure to make a reservation prior!!

This time was maybe my 5th time here and the food and service is always great. The only issue is always other patrons unfortunately, people tend to let their children run around which leads to kids throwing rocks or kicking the booths where people are eating and that can become disruptive. It’s not the staff’s responsibility to handle this, it’s squarely on the parents, but it does take away from the atmosphere a little. But Hama Hama is always worth a visit because staff are super friendly, the food is amazing, and so is the view.

An exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, made with fresh, local ingredients that truly shine. The atmosphere is incredible—beautiful, welcoming, and absolutely a must‑experience. On top of that, the staff is genuinely friendly and makes you feel right at home. This place gets everything right.

We stopped here on Monday morning and bought some oysters in store. I wish we come and try them at restaurant.
We had an amazing time here! They offer 2 type of dining experience. First one is a quicker wait where you order from the food truck/ general store and you can sit at any open tables in that area. Second option is a longer wait if you don't have a reservation, but will get you a table in a cool A-frame setting with the beach view. Wait was about 45 min-1 hour on the day we went.
The food truck has about 60% of the items that the restaurant offers and that was good enough for us. We ordered fried oysters, fish and chips and a U-Shuck oysters bucket. Everything was so fresh and we love the experience. The restaurant carry some items that we didn't see at the food truck such as clams & grilled oysters.
The general store is where you can find small gift items like keychain, magnets, dish towel, fresh seafood to go (dungeness crab, oysters, scallops, fish) and where you'd order the U-Shuck bucket. The oyster bucket already come with gloves and oyster shucking knife.
Definitely worth a trip to enjoy the experience!
