We had read that the food was good but that service was not so much. Our server, Cesily, was GREAT! She was right on top of us from seating to wrapping up our leftovers. Gotta say the Crab Pie and Brussel Sprouts are something EVERYONE should try. Oh my, yum!
Excellent service! Thoroughly enjoyed all our appetizers, specialty cocktails, and dinner. Highly recommend the bottle of French Chardonnay. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Very disappointed. We have been coming here since it opened and sadly the service just continues to get worse and slower each time. We ordered mocktails and the bartender was chatting it up with the clients but it took about 20 minutes to get them and had to ask our server if they forgot. This happens every time and we want to order more drinks but it takes so long we just don't want to deal with it. After we placed our order the server informed us that the kitchen staff was all new and being trained. So it may take longer than usual. After another 50 minutes my kids were so hungry and restless we had to go for a walk so they didnt freak out. After 5 minutes we came back and the kids pizza was still not at our table. The pizza came and we waited for another 15 -20 for the rest of our order to arrive. At one point I had to flag the server down and ask if we needed to cancel our order. We had lost all confidence that the kitchen would be able to make our meal. The server snapped at me a bit and reiterated that the staff was all new. This was the worst experience we have had here and it warrants a review. I hate leaving bad reviews but this was horrible. The steak was overcooked and they completely forgot our salad. By the end we were desperate to leave. So expensive and such horrible service. $200 for a family of four. We are officially done coming here. :(
Good portions for price. I had the chicken shawarma. Half a chicken, breast a tch dry but it was overall okay. Glad it had a tzaziki style sauce underneath. Came with roasted potatoes cut into large cubes, crispy and hot so let them cool a bit and a side of their(I believe)pickles which was an interesting side but I liked them. Both friends ordered caesar salads with crab and enjoyed them. Also had cup of corn chowder which came with their focaccia, delish. For dessert two of us had a scoop of ice cream with a chosen liqueur. I had the bourbon cream which was yummy. My friend had the peach which smelled lovely but pricey and she liked the bourbon creme better. My other friend ordered the lemon lavender berry posset which tasted great. We could not taste lavender but other friend did and made the yuck face. What can you do. Can't please them all. Had a window four top which was great for that ocean view but dress accordingly as it was warm. There were shades and we dropped ours down enough to block sun but keep view. Also if you are a couple they have some two tops that work for small to medium humans as they are between pillars and table is not normal width, half like a bar top. I've sat there before and I"d go for a bar seat before sitting there . We are 5'3" 115# and 5'9"170# I was not impressed but there was a couple the other night who were seated there and appeared ok with it. Up to you. For a romantic date go to The Depot. For a family with kids and a healthy spending budget or friends looking for decent grub and a view, Pickled Fish is perfect. Oh, they had a music, started around 7- 730p? A guy with guitar, perfect music for the space, not a loud jam. I would have liked to stay and listen but we had other plans. All in all one of the better places to eat out on Long Beach peninsula.
Brunch on 6/21 after our friends wedding. A very different experience than the rehearsal dinner. Our server was incredible. They were super short staffed and she busted her butt to meet everyone's needs.
Gorgeous view of the ocean and beach, excellent food and lovely staff. Just a little slow getting meals out but it was busy and we were not in any rush. Will absolutely return on our next trip to Long Beach.
I noted on our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and the host and server said nothing about it. Disappointing since the service has been exceptional here in the past.
Great food. Crab cakes were so fresh and flavorful. Pizza was great. Beautiful view. One person with food allergies was well cared for and loved their meal. Would highly recommend and definitely go back.
Beautiful setting and wonderful seafood. The clams and clam chowder were top notch. Multiple tables have water view.
Service was amazing, the food was sooo good, the drink for a cause was honestly the best and the view was incredible!

The Pickled Fish is a fun restaurant. The menu is limited but you know with a small menu everything is done well. The view of the ocean is spectacular. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was mediocre. Flavors need work- lemony chowder and underseasoned food. Service and view was excellent. Good wine program.
Lovely view of the ocean and beach. The menu choices were limited but good. I had salmon and my wife had pizza; both were good. Service was good.😊
Atmosphere was great , service was friendly & attentive. The food value was not as I expected their Rock Cod dinner was basically Fish & chips thought it would be prepared differently. This is based on the other items on their menu.
The staff was super friendly and the food was even better than we thought. The gorgeous views from on top of the restaurant combined with everything else made it a terrific evening. Thank you everyone!
