Great to see the Galley up and running again! I have many photos dating back to 1990, and while I witnessed cosmetic changes, it's wonderful to see the hospitality, and yummy food still the same!
Awesome food .. must try fish and chips ..
Closed for renovations
Great chowder!! Beautiful location too!!
The food is great
Wednesday nights on Lopez Island seems to be the night that all of the restaurants are closed, so the pickin's are slim. The Galley reminds one of a small town diner, the one out on a dusty two lane road in a very small out of the way town. The food tasted OK, although we didn't appreciate sharing the dining room with so many flies. Also, their lounge/bar shares the parking lot with the restaurant, so if you are unlucky and arrive during the happy hour, like we did, you will only find parking on the side of the road. Somewhat depressing interior in need of some TLC.
I really liked this place. I think it is under new management so my review is immaterial
Galley is temporarily closed with new owners doing renovation. One hopes that the tablecloths are changed -- but the basic set up of great home cooked food is retained. It's not a "yuppy place" and shouldn't be! We came here dozens of times for locally sourced burgers, locally caught fish, some great Mexican items, wonderful soups, and solid draft beers.

This homey spot came recommended by several locals. We watched the sunset and enjoyed a tasty margarita. I recommend the fish tacos with mango salsa and berry pie for dessert. Being on the island on a weekday in the Fall, it was hard to find many open businesses but we were glad to find this one.
Killer food, awesome sunset views- no frills and a great local bar atmosphere after hours.... recommend eating on the bar side of the building- even with kids. Much livelier!
On Lopez Island this is the best place on the island to have any meal. With a cheerful staff and a pretty twilight view of Fisherman Bay, it was a comfortable spot to enjoy our dinners of grilled salmon, fish and chips, a BLT, Fort Knox pie, and blackberry pie.—good food served by a terrific serving staff. We also thoroughly enjoyed wonder breakfasts the following morning. And if you are lucky, you may have breakfast at the same time as the Chamber of Commerce was meeting there. We did, accidentally.
The French Toast I dreamt about all night. Then at breakfast my dream was totally fulfilled. I'm a happy camper with the Galley Rich Seubert
I love the Galley. My folks are residents of the island and we have been going to the Galley for years. Every visit brings joy and full bellies. The waitstaff is attentive and fun, Janet is my fav! Jeff, the owner, has done a spectacular job with the place. I highly recommend you check it out if ever on Lopez. You will leave with a smile on your face and a delicious food in your belly.
