I went to this Chat and Roll without any expectations due to the bad reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. I just ordered the chai and Bhel puri. We had to add sugar to the chai but it was pretty standard, definitely could have added some chai masala or cardamom/ginger powder. Bhel puri was good and was freshly prepared by the lady at the counter. I think may be their hot menu is not too great but I wouldn't know because I am yet to try it. Next time, I will try their aloo or samosa Chaat. Price point was good..$10 for Bhel puri and around $2.50 for the chai. This is inside the mall in the food court.

I wish I could give something below than 1 star!! I am not usually a review person but wanted to write this WARNING post!We bought naan, gravy and rice combo to go.Naan was totally burnt and not fresh at all. Taste is below average. Service was awful. Definitely, not worth the price.

Food did not even taste good no salt no taste we ordered mango chicken and chicken Tikka masala they both looked the same. The way the food was given to us for terrible as well by the time we made it to our table everything was spilling over our hands.

Food is OK, but the service is rotten. I made the mistake of tipping before i got my food.

I am from Toronto visiting family. We had gone shopping at Alerwood Mall and we decided to eat at the food court. I ordered from Chaat N Roll, I was not disappointed. The others did not. They had Lunch but myself I had a Meal. I loved the food so much. The Lamb curry was out of this world and the rice was prepared perfectly. The People serving me where the best. I wish we had this franchise back home. Highly recommend.

I was so sad today, I'm pregnant and I drove all the way from Marysville because I heard this place has great naan, and when those pregnancy cravings hit, they hit hard... when i got there i pointed to a photo on the menu that was chicken and veggies wrapped in naan, i asked what is this called? She said "chicken roll" I looked at all the names on the menu and it wasn't there... confused I asked "this photo is called chicken roll? The one with the chicken wrapped in naan right?"... she said "yes, would you like to order it?"... I happily ordered it and paid the $17 dollars. When my order number was as called I grabbed my food and sat down... when I opened the container it was not at all the food from the photo... instead it was chicken and lettuce drenched in sauce and wrapped in a tortilla??? I went back to the lady and expressed my disappointment. I explained I specifically came for the naan... she shook her head and said "sorry you didn't like it".... I wasn't offered the correct item, wasn't offered a refund...I'm not sure why this happened... or where the disconnect was... I clarified with words and a photo...So so so sad

WARNING, FOOD POISONING! My friend and I stopped here for a quick bite before a movie. She ordered chicken biryani, and we waited about 10-15 minutes for the food to be ready. She was a bit suspicious that this would mean that it was not fresh, but I (wrongfully) attempted to reassure her it was being prepared. The food was served and coated with cold oil. There was a HALF egg that was grey and cold (for $18, I want my full egg). My friend attempted to be cheery and eat, looking forward to watching Batman. Riddle me this - she shortly began projectile vomiting in the Alderwood bathroom. How could this be, granted we’d ordered an $18 plate of RICE? She texted me “ Either I have an extreme illness or bad Indian food ”. I approached the counter searching for an explanation and a refund, and was shortly told by the chef that the food is frozen and “the fridge don’t work”. HOW IS THE FOOD FROZEN SAFELY WITH A BROKEN FREEZER? My friends, that is the answer to the projectile vomit riddle. Chicken kept in a broken freezer for hours, cultivating bacteria, and ultimately ending up in the Alderwood toilet. The employees, presumably family of the owner, initially tried to deny that the food was frozen or poorly made, but the nice chef was truthful. Save your stomachs, and make your Batman movies!

Worst food and hospitality. we ordered papdi Chaat. The papdi in papdi Chaat was stale and the curd used in it was also bad. They didn't even add any spices to it. And when asked for an extra spoon the lady made faces.

I ordered tikka masala with rice. It was on the cold side and had at most 3 small pieces of meat. Super disappointed as I paid over $16 for this meal. I won't be back, too many other restaurants and the service wasn't great either

Bought some chaat and samosas. The chaat was miserable sad and and soggy. The samosas were average.... Avoid this place for Indian food.

If you like plain and water-ish mango chicken curry with only three small pieces of quarter size of chicken, this is your place!!

When i came to the shop, i addressed the fact that I am Muslim and would appreciate being assured the food was halal. The owner then pointed to the sign and said it was and that he was a Muslim too. a few seconds later, he offered me a sample. noting that he just expressed the fact that he was Muslim, he should have known better than to give a fasting woman a sample. he was taken aback when I said I was fasting and then repeated the fact that "Oh yes, I am Muslim too". Noting that I am a fasting person, and telling him I am feeding 3 people with this order, I asked for less soup and more chicken from my butter chicken. Extremely stingy. He proceeded to put predominantly soup and only 4 pieces of chicken in my bowl. Extremely stingy and even more disrespectful. Will not be returning.

Used to love this place, not sure if they got new ownership or what. The naan was under baked, the curry flavors were there but they were so watery, and the portions seemed to have gotten smaller. Very disappointed

We came to see movies and were craving for some Indian street style food and came across this place. Its walking distance from AMC Alder wood AMC in a food court in the mall. Their are many other good eats as well. Ample of parking available which might be easy on a weekday. Being a weekend their was rush in the food court. Strange to see this place not pop up on Yelp. We ordered their:- Samosa- It was an average tasting one. It was a little bland on taste. Aloo tikki chaat- It was good, flavorful. Veg Tandoori Roll- Nothing tandoori about it. A big slob of paneer. So its basically almost uncooked tortilla with sweet filling inside. Pass on this one. Overall, Its a good place for a quick bite. Pass on the veg roll. Will be back to try out more dishes.
