The food was amazing but the service sucked and there was hair in my sister’s food. Every other time I have been it was really good but this time it was okay. The lady never came to us and we had to wait a while but overall the food was totally fine except for one dish.

Hidden gem on Mercer Island! Very fresh and nicely presented rolls. Tempura also tasty and lightly crispy. Restaurant is also clean and casual. Service was super friendly. Must visit for reasonably priced rolls!

I had a great Bento box here today. Took me forever to decide what to eat. Their menu is huge for me! I'll be back soon so I can try something else. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because I lived in Japan for many years. Nothing compares to the food in Japan! But it sure was nice finding this restaurant today. I'll definitely be coming back!

Small dine in Sushi Spot, super cute place, gets busy quick so find a slow time and stop in. The monster roll was SO good. The shrimp Tempura roll was also good. I also tried the chicken teriyaki bowl, but it was not the bowl it came on a plate, with a scoop of rice and was loaded with mostly onions (I don't like onions particularly). It did taste yummy, I ate most of it. Fairly priced, although the shrimp Tempura roll only came with five pieces for $3 less than the larger roll, it's more of a half roll. If your going to get a good sized roll go with the rolls that are $16-18 just so you aren't disappointed with quantity for price. Overall, id definitely stop in again, it was good.

The sashimi was bursting with freshness and melted in my mouth. The special Tuna Tataki roll was something I'll be dreaming about tasting again.

Most of the sushi is okay. Unfortunately they care way more about the to go orders than their actual patrons, service suffers. Ordered the black cod today, it was mushy and flavorless--nothing like it should be or is at any other place. It lacked body, flavor and was totally overcooked--not to mention lots of bones! I let the waitress know--not even asking it to be remade, I had only taken two bites and left the rest in my plate, she asked if she should box it up when she was boxing other food, I said no it was honestly terrible, totally mushy, overcooked and flavorless. Her response "that's how it always is" and walked away. No apology, no offer of any concession whatsoever. At $25 it is about the most expensive item on the menu. One would expect them to care even a little--a sincere apology or an offer of a discount or a free dessert or anything (probably wouldn't have taken them up on anything else at that point anyway) but the indifference sealed it--sorry, no interest in spending my $$ at a place that does not value its clientele.

We love love love sushi joa! We live nearby and used to order from here all the time- still do a lot! Their bento box is a ton of food for like $25. And they have a ton of not sushi options too for those who don’t eat fish. This is one of my fiancés favorite places and he doesn’t even eat sushi! The bento box he gets comes with tempura veggies and chicken karage, it is delicious! I eat sushi and I love their sushi. It’s our favorite sushi place on the island.

This is our favorite local spot to eat. All of the food is wonderful - from the nigiri, to the sushi rolls, to the Udon, etc... And the customer service is always top notch. They typically remember my wife's regular order, and the entire staff says "thank you" when we leave.

We had miso soup, chicken potstickers, veg tempura and sashimi dinner combo. Everything was delicious, but I liked tempura and pot stickers in particular. Not too greasy, fresh tasting, yum

Very good sushi and sashimi, the jalapeno poppers were excellent... The rest of the cooked food was pretty bland and boring (Udon soup and bi bim bap)
