Mel!!!! What an incredibly kind and warm person! Thank you for a fabulous dinner. Everything we ordered was wonderful, fish and chips, burger and chicken sandwich. Our family felt so welcomed and loved the beverages. Sad to hear they are closing for a few months and will come back in spring. A hidden gem on our Washington coast

It is a coastal tavern/bar..not a city bar..the people there are like family and the bartender..Mel..was a fantastic woman with a world of knowledge about the area and things to do. Food was good!

Dropped by yesterday for happy hour and had a great time! We got there right after opening, had a few beers and put some tunes on the "juke box." Regulars wandered in and out, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The reviews of Mel and the Sea Gate are spot on. You will never meet a more genuine, welcoming person! The drinks were solid pours and the beer was cold! It's really too bad they dont serve breakfast or lunch. They could really give "the other guys in town" a run for their money! We cant wait to go back this afternoon!

Wonderful small town atmosphere! Drinks are DELICIOUS! Mel is fantastic. Food was good. Live music awesome. As an out of towner- I'd definitely recommend!!

This place is great. This is my second day in a row. Food is a solid 4 star. Ambiance and staff kicks it up to 5. Locals were friendly and welcoming. One person explained, "This is our living room." Good fish. Tasty pizza. Mel is an epic host... and almost everything else. What a treasure!
