Sumo Japanese Restaurant Reviews
I thought the food was great But what I didn’t expect was to be charged a 20% large party fee for 6 people. I don’t consider 6 people a large party plus I do not see anything on their page saying you will be charged that. I didn’t catch that plus I tipped them 20 % so to me they got a 40% tip. I don’t know if anyone else has gotten this fee charged to them but please be aware of it.
Food is okay but the service was terrible. We ordered a tempura appetizer and they mistakenly brought out edamame. The server apologized and left the edamame at the table for us to enjoy while he corrected the mistake. We ate a few of them. A few minutes later another server came over and said rudely that she was going to take the edamame off the table unless we were going to pay for it. So she did I assume to throw it away. I hope she didn’t intend to serve it to someone else....read full review

Sumo Japanese Restaurant in Moses Lake offers tasty Japanese steak and sushi at great prices. The unassuming strip mall location provides a friendly and clean atmosphere. With fresh sushi and accommodating service, it is a great spot for both hibachi and sushi lovers. Customers consistently praise the excellent service, noting that the staff is always friendly and helpful. The cozy atmosphere with hanging lights adds to the enjoyable experience, and the restaurant even features a Japanese serving robot. Sumo is a popular choice for dinner dates, with the lunch happy hour also being a hit. Recommended dishes include pork gyoza, spicy edamame, Takoyaki, killer shrimp roll, and hibachi dishes with chicken, steak, or shrimp. The food is great and fairly priced, with a selection of specialty sake that impresses customers. Despite some feedback about serving sizes of wasabi for take-out orders, the overall experience remains positive, making this a go-to place for sushi cravings in Moses Lake.
