La Catrina Tacos & Tequila

Fabulous food in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Great service and generous portions. Highly recommend the chicken Molerito (burrito with a rich, sweet mole sauce)!

My bf and I had lunch a couple days ago, he got a chimichanga and I got the enchilada/taco combo with carne asada. We got margaritas of course. They were absolutely perfect and I noted the real ingredients so definitely a rave review for the drinks!
We both basically cleaned our plates but I noticed while eating the taco the meat seemed off (I couldn’t taste it in the enchilada) so I didn’t finish it.
About 6hrs later I was hit with moderate food poisoning and was up all night being sick with burning insides. My bf didn’t get sick so I’m guessing it was the steak. I’ve always loved this place and I’ve worked in restaurants long enough to know that unfortunately stuff happens, however I don’t think I’ll ever be able to eat here again after this experience.

The food and the service was incredible. I'm not sure of our server's name but he was a young man with dark hair and tan skin. Very personable and a great waiter. The food was incredible. I have a new favorite enchilada sauce thanks to them, and the caramelized onions with the carne asada for enchiladas was delicious. I can't recommend them enough!

They advertised $2 tacos today (Oct. 18th), but they did not attend the event as advertised. We went to the restaurant, thinking it was probably there, but the staff were clueless. I love supporting local businesses, but we decided to leave because of the blatant deceptive trade practice.

We went there for a birthday lunch. The birthday celebration is great. They bring out a little firework. And some churros. They come delivered in a fire truck type thing. It's really cool. I enjoyed everything. One note I probably wouldn't order the tacos again. They lacked sour cream guacamole and pico de gallo. They were kind of dry clump of meat. But everything else was wonderful. I had the flight of margaritas. Those are many margaritas and they were very cute and fun and a big hit. Everybody else wish they would have ordered that.

Always in Joy Catrina. The food is always amazing in the atmosphere. Never fails. Just so happened, the service was a four out of a five this time but everyone has a bad day and maybe it was a bad day for our server. But nonetheless, we will be going back because our servers are usually amazing!

The actual restaurant is nice, but the food was UNPLEASANT!!
We stopped by for a quick lunch, in total we ordered 15 tacos , took advantage of the taco Tuesday special, I dont know if its cause they are $2 or what, but the Chorizo tacos were swimming in grease, it wasnt strained , literally full of grease, I took a picture of the grease from ONE taco, our stomachs hurt while in the restaurant.
The asada tacos too were a bit greasy but not as bad. Not a good first experience.

How this place is only at 4.5 stars is mind-blowing. This place ought to be 4.8+. The food is amazing, the beverage pours are generous, and the staff feel like your friends. Love this place!

This place has a great selection of tacos and drinks. The staff is super friendly, and the owner is very attentive. They also offer daily specials, which is a plus. I recommend it if you ever find yourself in Mt. Vernon.

We both got the taco lunch special. Two tacos, rice, and beans for $14. There was a nice selection of tacos to choose from. The food was delicious, and the server was super friendly.
