This is not a review for food; the food tonight was fine - when it finally came out an hour and a half after we sat down. This review is for the absolutely unforgivable lack of communication and horrendous lack of service. We came as a group of 6, four adults and 2 children under 5. Place wasn't slammed, but it was dinner time - I get it. We sat down, ordered drinks and food, and waited. For 1.5 hours. Our server came over once in the middle and apologized once for the delay. What we eventually found out, was there was only one person in the kitchen, and a large group of about 10 had just ordered before we sat down. My objection here is the lack of communication from the staff. If we had been told after sitting down that it would most likely be an hour or more wait, we would have been able to make a decision if we were willing to wait. With 2 hungry kids, waiting at a table for 1.5 hours is not a great time. I understand, and sympathize, with being short staffed. Honest communication with your customers will keep them coming back, even if they choose to pass for a night. Now, we won't ever be back. I would highly caution anyone choosing to dine here, ask where you are in line before ordering food.

Gentleman Genes is the best kept secret. Their food is always great, kid friendly, touch tunes, pull tabs… Our waitress Tamra makes the best dirty martini and is always willing to go the extra mile.

Ordered dinner on DoorDash from Gentleman Gene’s, and it was terrific. Ordered the steak, with a side, and cup of soup. I was very happy with the clam chowder, it was flavorful and had lots of clams. The steak was ordered medium/rare, and it came perfectly cooked. The baked potato was still hot and came with all the fixings. I will definitely be visiting them in the future.

We had a great time. The service was great. We were seated and had drinks within minutes of our arrival. Food was served quickly. We had fish and chips. The fish was cooked nicely, and the fries were cooked great. My only complaint would be that the decor seems a little dated. But still a very nice-looking place.
We will return the next time we are in the area.

Used to be my husband and my favorite restaurant, had not been there for a while, So disappointed, will not go back.
The prices have gone up as expected, but the fish batter is not the same and the fish is much smaller. I had the Hamburger and it was the greasiest hamburger I have ever eaten. It is sad. But we will not go back. Such a shame. It was such a good restaurant.

Nice local pub with good food! The service here is quick and very friendly. I like the casual neighborhood atmosphere. I think the prices are also very fair and a good value for what you get. I really enjoyed the chili! The French fries are also pretty great. Fries are often pretty mediocre or standard at most restaurants but these were so good I actually finished them.

Went on a relatively slow night. Waited 30 min to have our drink order taken. Waited another 10 minutes to have no drinks or food order taken. Left to go eat somewhere else. Waitress too busy flirting with guy at bar to even see we left.
