Moreno's has improved a lot in the last few years.

I was skeptical about eating Mexican food in Washington, but I was reccomended this place by my Uber driver and I was actually quite happy with it. The first gentleman who took my order was awesome and then he disappeared and had been replaced by a lady who didnt really check on me and was kind of snobby. I ordered a michelada, tortilla soup, & shrimp, carne asada, rice and beans. The Pacifico michelada was the best michelada I've ever had! It was very tasty and paired well with all my food. Tortilla soup I wasnt the biggest fan of but it wasn't a complete disappointment, on the bright side it was warm lol. The main dish was absolutely delicious though. Carne asada was seasoned to perfection and the shrimp was very good. Rice was a little bland. But, the beans were awesome.

As someone new to the area, I've been checking out a lot of the restaurants. I'm happy to say that most of my choices have been great (COA, AME, Shima, Train Wreck, Rachawadee, etc).

However, I'm sad to say that's not the case with this place.

It was 75% empty (see pic). There were only 2 people on the floor. My server didn't take my drink order until I put in my food order (poor form). Service was spotty (one person busting butt, the other was...not) and they're definitely understaffed.

They provided some chips and salsa that were tasty enough.

However, each time my food arrived, the plates we're hot af. Seriously. It burned my arm when I brushed it with the lightest touch. Whyyyyyy?

My quesadilla was supposed to be with chicken but showed up with cheese only (but correctly charged later). No biggie. However, they seem to have microwaved it rather than putting it on the grill, which is...just not okay. It was a sad showing surrounded by a pitiful spoonful of aging guacamole and sour cream.

The chipotle cream chicken was not creamy and, instead, was swimming in something more like a bbq sauce with a tiny bit of chipotle favor and heat. (Sad face) The "meat" was super thin and really overcooked. Honestly, it was unrecognizable. It came with an odd sour cream-based coleslaw that was okay. Beans were okay and covered with cotija, but also borderline overcooked.

For a cheese quesadilla and something resembling chipotle chicken with a drink, it was $42 (before tip). I won't be back unless they do a radical overhaul.

Wait time for an order that was placed online is ridiculous. Showed up 10 minutes after it was supposed to be done. Stood in line for 15 minutes to find out they didn't even start the order yet. I would understand if it was busy but there was maybe a handful of people in the restaurant eating.The point of online orders is to cut out the wait time..

Everything about this place was great. The servers were very nice and they did a great job. The food was great and came fast! Definitely will come here again.

We made an order with no onions and we got our order with onions and had a bad allergic reaction. Instead of remaking our order they scraped the onions off then put more cheese on it re warmed our food burnt the chips and the middle was soggy no avocado no tomatoes or olives just scrapped and re warmed and an allergic reaction

Amazing service wonderful people running this restaurant. The food is delicious!

Highly recommend the tortilla soup and the seafood soup (it's like a Cioppino). The spicy margarita is also really good and the beer is cold.

They have great people working there, but the table smells weird and they need to pay attention to the small things. The guacamole was hot, same with the pico de gallo. nobody likes these things hot, same thing with the lettuce they just put the plate straight in the microwave with the cold stuff on it. The asada burrito almost devoid of meat buuuuuut perfect rice and perfect tortillas.

I don’t normally write reviews but had to in this case. This used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant but no more. The last 2 times we’ve eaten there it’s been awful. I have several complaints:
They no longer put prices on the menu for their drinks. No wonder. I got charged $23 for a house margarita. When I questioned it I was told that was the price. No explanation.
The food was terrible. I had an expresso burrito that was so salty I could barely eat it. That was after I was served the wrong dish first. My husband ordered the seafood combo. It wasn’t cheap either. The fish tasted like it was old. Ick. The waitress really didn’t care when we complained.
The prices have gone up like a lot of other places but it’s way overpriced now for what you get.
The service was incredibly slow considering we were there at 8:00 on a Monday night and the restaurant wasn’t busy at all.
We won’t be eating there again.
