Absolutely beautiful place with AWESOME baked goods, ice cream, drinks and a great diverse menu. It’s a hidden gem that’s worth visiting!
PS: Superb service and ice cream with no lines 😁
A Delightful Stop!
I popped in for a quick bite and was so impressed! The service was excellent, and both the sandwiches and the homemade fudge brownie were absolutely delicious.
So great to see this place save and refreshed. The crew did a great job and the quality and portions of the food ... outstanding!
Excellent coffee! And some of the best blueberry muffins I’ve had.
Mmmmm mmmm good sandwich’s, pies, ice cream coupled with fun in sun on patio. Perfecto
We were in the area to buy a car and wanted to treat our family to ice cream while we had time. This wasn't our first choice but once we found it we definitely found a spot for anytime we are back in the area going forward. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, the serving sizes are great and the pricing is more than fair. Definitely come by if you want a savory sandwich and delicious ice cream!
The Rex has been revamped and it’s so nice inside and out. Plenty of outside seating to enjoy some great ice cream and gelato. A sweet little bathroom inside. Plenty of smiles and easy parking. Kid and dog friendly!

I Haven't eaten here yet but know Wes and hope I can one day have the opportunity, just want to wish you the best of luck and hope to see you open again so I can bring my family in. Wes is good people and am saddened to hear about your recent loss and health concerns and my heart goes out to you old friend.
Our first time eating here. My husband had a burger and I had the rueben sandwich, both were great! We will be back to try the fish and chips!

The Rex is anything but royal.
We saw some folks leaving who had sandwiches that looked amazing, piled high with meat. Apparently dining-in comes at the expense of meat on the sandwich. I ordered a meatloaf sandwich and it had a pathetic amount of meat that covered about 50% of the total area of the bread. The meat was thinly sliced (for meatloaf) at about 1/2" thin: One slice over two pieces of bread. This meatloaf sandwich left a lot to be desired and would more properly be called a 'bread and lettuce sandwich' with mustard and meatloaf as condiments.
Although the soup was pretty good, it seemed like canned vegetable soup with a chintzy amount of hamburger and kielbasa added to it. The flavor was oddly familiar to that of Campbell's, which is good, but only makes it semi-homemade. The vegetables were exactly like you'd find in a Campbell's can in both texture, size, type, and flavor. I purchased the 'bowl' which is actually a mug relabeled as a bowl.. There's even a mug handle on it. I think I had a morsel of hamburger meat and a single kielbasa slice in my 'bowl.' For $12.
Pro tip: They only serve hamburgers Friday-Saturday despite what Apple Maps will tell you when you search 'hamburgers near me.'
The attitude of the waitress was what shocked me most. I asked if we should order at the counter or sit down and she said 'yes' .. When I inquired which one she meant yes to she said 'I just told you.' I was like ok, maybe this is part of their schtick and/or she just didn't care, in either case it wasn't an issue because I was just there for food anyways. She came to the table and said she's had a very stressful and busy day.. There were 3 employees and 3 customers in there at that time, and I was one of the customers.
What I'm suggesting is The Rex is a local joint and not for outsiders. The cold attitude of the staff combined with the terrible quantity of food tells me this is an insiders-only place to go and they keep the doors open to the public for legal reasons. Either that or they're just really bad at what they do. Regardless, there is no way I'm going back.. And I'm sure they'd prefer it that way anyways because I'm not a local. Do yourself a favor and keep driving.

Rude insane people who sneered at us for wearing masks and yelled at my friend for not knowing the difference between a dry and wet cappuccino. dont yall have anything better to do? so sad.
Kitschy local haunt seems to be under new management. Food is worth waiting for (but you WILL have to wait). Interesting craft beer collection serves as a tasty distraction (when you get the attention of the barkeep/sandwich maker).
