Food was good. I had the cod fish and chips. Predictable. The service was pretty bad but they were also down staff. They were friendly and apologetic. Great atmosphere. A fun space

Great ambiance and music! Fabulous food if you like a little Cajun spice. Definitely going back next time I'm in town

The afternoon crowd filled the restaurant on a weekday. Food was good and the service was friendly. It took much longer to get food than we expected and it seemed other tables felt the same as they kept asking and checking the time on watches. The ledge by our table could use a good dusting.

Love the food and atmosphere here! All wait staff were very attentive, I would suggest checking it out yourself and not relying on reviews, BTW you won’t be disappointed!

The waitresses were really friendly and were attentive. The service was super slow but the Cajun shrimp dip was so good! Jambalaya was missing a lot of flavor in my opinion.Overall happy with the environment except for extended wait times just sitting around on my phone. At least I was not in a hurry ☻

My rating falls wholely on the manager. Their chef was out for medical reasons, and they were understaffed on a festival weekend. Yet they let us make a last minute reservation. The waitstaff and cooks were doing there best, but should never have been put in the situation. The food was very good, especially considering the head chef was gone.It took over an hour to get our appetizers. The entrees were very close behind. We watched several other tables get up and leave without being served, and wondered how long it would've taken for our orders if we were still behind those groups.Hopefully, on regular days things run more smoothly. But management decisions like this leave the staff to face the frustrated customers, and that is grossly unfair.

After taking our order and waiting for 30 mins, we were told they were out of salmon. Salad was super dry and old. The other dishes were average

My latest trip to Poirier's On the River was fantastic. The service was attentive and prompt. The food was also spot on. I ordered their dinner special, Oyster Gumbo, for $39.99, and their Red Beans and Rice for $26. Both were delicious and filling. The only complaint is that the food took about 30 minutes to come out. However, it is well worth the wait for the good food; just don't come here when you have other time-sensitive plans after dinner. There were also many other customers, so being a bit slow makes sense. Delicious food takes time to make. The interior of the restaurant is very cozy. Personally, I prefer it quiet and not have a band play during dinner.

Decided to give this a try since it was no longer the trumpeter. Talk about fantastic Southern food. I'm fact probably the best I've had. I would do there just for the hush puppies! I had the gumbo and the wife had the Bourbon Street Chicken. We will definitely be returning!
