Frankly speaking, the pies here are just not my slice of pie. The crusts and crumble all use vegetable shortening, which I can taste probably because I don't like the taste of vegetable shortening. There's so much left to be desired there since nothing beats the flavor of butter crusts. I understand if this makes the pie vegetarian friendly, but there's nothing stopping them from making both types. Furthermore, there's no significant health benefit of shortening...
This is the best pie in Seattle by far. Featured at every family holiday.The apple-berry crumb is almost a religions experience. Highly recommend but be warned you can become addicted.
