Dined there for the first time a couple of Sundays ago with a friend. We had craft cocktails and shared several menu items for maximum taste testing! Our favorites: The crab/scallop cake appetizer was nice and meaty and cooked to perfection! The seafood linguini not only had a nice variety of seafood, but the sauce was very tasty - not a bland Alfredo sauce like some seafood pastas. And the piece de resistance was the Blood Orange Lime Curd Tart with a raspberry sauce! Everything was excellent, including the service!

What a perfect place for a date night; dimly lit, slow-paced, small with a home-grown feel (like going to a friend's house), with superb high end dishes and a sizable selection of wine to boot. It's one of these places that serve each table 2-3 times max a night. So reservation is definitely recommended but once you're there it's not a rush to swallow everything and leave. It's high end without the obnoxious vibes. Here's everything our party of 4 ordered:Bottle of Daou wineLavender lemon dropBreadbasket with the honey butter and salted butterCrab cakesSeafood linguineFilet mignonRibeye x 2John's saladBlood orange tartThe crab cakes are a must. The steaks are huge and perfectly cooked to medium rare - so tender with simple salt/pepper. I'm not a fan of places that cover their delicious meat with a thick layer of salt/pepper where you no longer taste the meat. This place doesn't do that thank goodness. Even the breadbasket was good, mainly because of the two honey and salted butter spreads.Service was excellent, attentive without the pushiness.$394 for 4 before tips ($100/person). Worth it for the nice evening out with friends.

Johns Grill was a sweet surprise in the best way—we found a new hidden gem! There is plenty of parking as it sets back from the waterfront a bit, closer to Rosehill Community Center. There is a small bar and then dinner room with small group tables. The decor is Ralph Lauren and country cottage vibe—very romantic for a date night for couples. For starters we enjoyed the crab cake and starter house salad paired with some inkblot wine. We typically don’t are not crab cake people but the waiter insisted we tried it, and it was delicious. Home made and was the perfect size for two or more people. For entrees, my fiance got the dry aged steak and I got the salmon with a blanc style sauce on it. My fiance makes amazing steak at home so much he rarely gets steak at restaurants, but he loved the dry aged steak. I think his eyes rolled back at first bite… I might have snuck a couple bites too. The salon was perfectly cooked and the blanc sauce was the perfect accompaniment since it was light and creamy. We ended the night with a brownie dessert that was heavenly for our cheat meal day that they comped since it was our anniversary. Wasn’t expecting that because it was a smaller restaurant. Service was perfect and he made wonderful recommendations. I normally don’t taste test the wine but there was a lot I didn’t recognize so he let us try a sample. Overall great experience and we will be back! I selfishly don’t want to tell others so it no longer becomes a hidden gem but here I am ;)

Well this was a pleasant surprise. This is a small, cozy place tucked away off the Speedway, good for a romantic setting. The food was delicious. I had the seafood linguini and my better half had the New York steak and started with clam chowder. Top notch. This is a classy place and the price tag reminds you of it, but it was worth it. Server was fantastic and very friendly. We will make sure to come back.

The stars of the show – the Trail's End Pork Chop and the 42-day Dry Age New York Steak. Each dish was a masterpiece, a symphony of flavors that left our taste buds dancing with joy. The subtle lighting and tasteful decor created an intimate setting, perfect for a romantic dinner. The service was personalized and attentive. Overall very good place, definitely worth visiting again.

Rather expensive for what we had. The calamari was good but the aioli sauce was not. The beef stroganoff was disappointing as the beef was very chewy and not fork tender. A meal with 1 appetizer, 1 green salad, 2 entrees on the lower end of the expensive selection and a lower cost wine bottle came to $188.

Steak was extremely disappointing. Came cold, the butter on top was soft but not melting and the steak was dry.Wait staff were excellent and friendly.

Had reservations for my husbands 31st birthday. This dinner didn’t disappoint! The service was alright for a small town, I would have asked for better explanations about the menu as he had nothing special to really say about any of it. But again! Food was pretty great, we had the calamari, bread, corn chowder, seafood linguine and ribeye. Everything tasted light but great with flavors. I also had the old fashion and my husband had something as well as both drinks were made to perfection and were both great pairings for our selection. Will definitely be back and recommend for a lovely dinner outing in the town!

For the price. I expected a bit finer experience. The steaks were good but not 48$ good. I do appreciate the heavy-handed drinks though.

We ate here last night for my birthday with a party of 9. I told the server upfront that it would be separate checks and asked if that was ok. I used to be a server so I’m aware that it’s a pain in the butt which is why I made sure to ask. She said it was fine. The food was really good but the service wasn’t great. She seemed annoying and distant the whole time- service was very slow and then she lectured the whole tanks at the end that if we came back we could not do separate checks because it “screws everything up.” I left her an extra $30 on top of the 20% for her troubles. Everything was awesome except our service.
