Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere.

A regular favorite with me and my wife, its always a pleasure to sit at their sushi bar, sip tea, and enjoy great food prepared and served by friendly staff.

I ordered lunch chirashi with no shellfish yet they put octopus & shrimp.
If they couldn’t accommodate allergies they should’ve had mentioned it beforehand. Very disappointed.

We (four adults) visited Aji for a birthday celebration and could not have enjoyed it more! We highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent service (everyone was so helpful, personable, and friendly) and for the next-level food. Our group enjoyed the Korean BBQ, tempura basket, rainbow sushi, fried gyoza and more. If you have a birthday, be sure to mention it, as they bring out an amazing dry-ice stand with mochi ice cream for dessert! Everything was beyond delicious and the entire experience was perfection.

It doesn't look like a 2 single serving.
I ordered 2 dishes… I think they forced it to be 16 pieces. They probably put the leftovers in a size that would fit a few in someone's bento- box. They didn't offer any help. Businesses need to be honest so customers know … they're trying to save money. I was suspect it. It's not a matter of just making the number 8x8=16 of course I paid tips too.

Best sushi I've ever had in the US, they do a great job with takeout too. Been coming here regularly for years and their top-notch quality is super consistent.

We used to be regulars at Aji Sushi in Newcastle since their opening, but never again. The $55 Chirashi special came with stale, dry rice that tasted like it was from yesterday—completely unacceptable at that price. To make matters worse, the restaurant automatically added a tip for our group of four without telling us, and the waiter acted as if nothing was on the bill so we’d almost double tip. The tip was calculated on top of the taxes. DISHONEST, poor quality, and no transparency. We’re done with this place.

The food was delicious! We had a signature roll, snow shadow which was all raw fish and a light veggie wrapping.

Uniquely, they offer miso soup to everyone upon seating and warm scented wet towels for cleaning your hands. Very friendly service and kind staff!

Decorated with lots of thought! A lot of fun elements to the restaurant including signed plates at the sushi bar.

Aji Sushi & Grill is an excellent spot and quickly became one of my favorites in the area. The food is fresh, flavorful, and comes in portions that honestly blew me away. If you go, I highly recommend trying the Bento dinner box—it’s an absurd amount of food and absolutely worth it. You get a variety of dishes all packed into one meal, and every single item is delicious. The sushi rolls are well-prepared with great texture and balance, and the cooked options were just as good. Service here is friendly and attentive, and they do a great job of keeping things moving even when it’s busy. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it perfect for a casual dinner, date night, or even a small celebration. Prices are fair considering the quality and quantity of what you get. Overall, this place offers incredible value and a great dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing friends along.

It is not good at udon and Ramen. Worst udon and Ramen I had tried so far. And it charged me 18% tips without asking. That is illegal.

Just found this place! Food presentation is gorgeous!!! Service was fast and friendly. We always had everything we needed. Kitchen was quick but again, beautiful plates!!!

Will come back again for their amazing sushi roll menu options!

High quality food, very generous portion sizes, and friendly and prompt service. The hot towels when you sit down are such a nice touch. Love this place. Been at least 5 or 6 times now.
