i just wanted to thank the bartender there tonight. i am currently houseless, which in a lot of ways is a crime and most certainly looked down upon by polite society and so i wanted to thank the bartender at this facility for giving me a rare gift. They kicked me out of the bar in the most optimal way i could have hoped for. i admittedly use wifi in public locations to communicate with my children from time to time and as I don't drink alcohol this can cause proprietors to feel as if my use of their wifi constitutes theft or that i am benefitting off of a service that is paid for by paying patrons and since I don't drink alcohol or have much to offer i shouldn't be able to use the services. i understand that they have a business to run, and that my use, of THEIR wifi, to talk to my son, is not their business model and certainly not one that will turn a profit. Further more, it is not their responsibility to ensure that i am able to talk to my son and it is well within their right to require me to purchase something to use their facilities. Fully agreed, and as a houseless person in Olympia I have been told to leave in a much more demeaning, dehumanizing fashion so i am truly thankful for the bartenders at the 4th ave tavern because they kicked me out in a way that didn't alert my son that his dad was being kicked out for being unable to purchase a drink and because they did so discreetly, I was able to retain what little dignity I have left and save face in front of my child. so thank you, it does mean a lot to occasionally feel as though my presence is not a complete blight and that maybe my son will go to bed wishing his dads wifi service was better so we could have talked a little longer instead of the reality which is your father can't even get together enough money for a drink that he will not have drank but what would have allowed him to talk about everything and nothing at all for just a little bit longer. thank you.

this is usually my go to first choice place to play pool and hang out my only complaint is the weekends and how young the crowd and dynamic is. The services pretty good but could definitely use some improvement.

Super duper fun place! I’m not gonna lie I didn’t knew what to expect coming here. First time visiting bars around Olympia and this was our first stop! We were celebrating my besties 21st birthday and man this place was amazing. Pool tables, ping pong table, pinballs, darts, you name it they had everything fun.

The staff here is ridiculous. A guy cut in front of me in line for the bar, I told him it wasn't acceptable, he began to berate me and demoralize me. I held a show here in 2016, and my friends were gay bashed. Tonight just shows more that this place is NOT gay friendly. The staff person threw me out even though the other person was the aggressive aspect, threatened my life, and insulted me. He told us to fight outside. Great deescalation tactics. Good job. This place has gone to the dogs, and I would never suggest going there. Sad, tragic, and homophobic.

I love this place. I went there and specifically asked the staff to be rude to me. It was one of the best experiences of my life! Instead of spitting in my drink, the bartender told me to go walk in the alley and I'll get the same gross feeling. They are a hoot there!

I came in the afternoon and I ordered the Breakfast sandwich and the Hot Wings on the menu. The Breakfast sandwhich was the kind of delicious that makes you role your eyes in surprise and was easily worth $6. After I devoured that I was brought my hotwings. Even just smelling the hotwings cleared out my sinuses and made my mouth water with urgency. The taste is perfect, the wings are large and the spicey level is perfect. Just enough real burn from real hot wings without needing to douse yourself in water. This place has the best food prices in town on food and that Tavern fare you already love. Now onto the other parts of 4th Ave Tavern. The interior reminds me of a frontier tavern, with a worn away floor and that Washington wood interior that is so common in Seaside and mountain Washington towns. The building is clearly old and I wonder how patrons have pass through here since its construction. There are plenty of bar games and pool tables and a side patio. On the weekend nights this place is jammed with locals and those in town looking for a good time. Even with the crush of people all around, I still navigated my 80 pound puppy through here with ease. Every one was polite and kind and I enjoyed the atmosphere along with a drink. My review is, come here and eat and drink and watch Seahawks games. Mind your manners!
