The new owners have lost my support. The food is bland. Menu is too limited. Not enough tables. It’s amazing that so much was spent to remodel the space to have such a poor quality of food. This is the Capitols Cafe. It should be so much better.

I miss this place so dearly. Staff is super sweet. It is so nice to have somewhere to eat on campus at the Capitol. I hope they reopen once Covid passes. I recommend the breakfast burrito, cookies, and bagel sandwiches.

All I want to say about this place is that when I was at the Capitol the other day and needed a place to charge my phone, I was able to find a table with an outlet. I didn't order anything to eat or drink, but I got what I was after.
With a 20 minutes to spare before the capitol building tour, we popped downstairs to the cafe for a quick lunch. We ordered a turkey sandwich to share, and it was made to order. It came with a side of potato salad; the server split the order in two for us. The sandwich was very good and exactly as we ordered it. We ate quickly and made the tour with a few minutes to spare. We were in and out quickly, although it was after 1:00, past the traditional lunch hour. It's nice to have a convenient option right in the building.

These guys are much better in the last year or so. Sandwiches are consistent and daily specials are tasty and generously portioned. It's not gourmet but it's good and the staff are very friendly.

Don't waste your money. A quick look behind the counter will show you how dirty the floor is. They just step on food they drop. The women behind the counter are rude and unprofessional but that's not even anything compared to the food. It just tastes like cafeteria food that's way over priced and lacks flavor. The breakfast bowl, one of the items I got. Is just frozen egg disks and sausage disks they microwave and throw cheese on. You'll pay at least $8 on average here for nonsense. Working at the Capital i know it's convenient, but it's cheaper, easier, and WAY better to do yourself a favor and download Uber eats, or take a quick walk DT to a real deli.

Excellent homemade soup and subs. Closest place to at the Capital.
