They use MSG in some of their dishes. I remember the msg ban from the 1980s and most Chinese restaurants stopped using it permanently. I got sick within 5 minutes of the start to my meal. The wait staff serving me said the menu states they don't use msg but she would check. When she came back she said, "So this is a learning curve for me. The beef broccoli doesn't have msg but they do use it in the fried rice". That's not okay and I still paid for a meal I didn't even eat half of because I got sick from it. The gal was apologetic- not her fault as she's not the one cooking. But the restaurant needs to be transparent about their use of msg and remove any "no msg" messages from their menu because it's a lie. It was my first time eating there and I will not be going back nor recommending it.

The food and service were great. Lunch prices were very reasonable for what you get.
The one thing I absolutely hate about this place, is out of 8 parking spots at the front of the restaurant, only 2 are handicapped and they aren't even the closest to the door. There are 2 unmarked, 4 for curbside pickups, and the 2 handicapped. Don't even get me started on the location of the wheelchair ramp. That's why only 4 stars.

Arrived at 3:30, empty restaurant. No service for twenty minutes while servers chatted nearby.

Something has changed. The menu is only 2 meals for the family. Dinner D is gone such a shame. 20 plus years of it no more.

Emperor's Palace is definitely an American-style Chinese restaurant. Most of the flavors are bland with a lot of salt, very much like similar American dishes. A positive change, though, shows up in the soups: the curry and hot-and-sour soups have real flavor. The latest menu change shows higher prices and a more limited menu. Most vegetarian dishes have disappeared from the new menu, leaving Mapo Dofu, which of course contains pork. Don't expect to eat lunch for under $15, unless you order from the single item section. It's possible to order a serving of rice or a piece of chicken, for example, instead of a big plate of a single specialty or a huge combination plate. Dinner items are generally $20 or more.
Vegetarian options: Almost none.
Parking: Lots of parking, but not suited to large pickup trucks which can block access for other vehicles.
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp to the north of the front door, near the handicapped parking.

the food is delicious and always has been every experience I've ever had there which has been several years worth of experiences. This last one if I was to rate one to 10 was a one I had to ask two times for one of the dishes that came with the b meal which I took most of the meal home because I was waiting for that side service was just lousy I've never had this experience there before
Use too like coming here for there family dinners they completely changed there menu after years the same half the items for twice as much great thank you to the cheap owner will never come back here again!!!

The food we order is always great. Our server, though new, provided great service,as well. What we ordered is no longer on the menu (Thai Basil), but they let us order anyway. It is some of the best I have had in the greater Olympia area. Their fresh Spring Rolls are the bomb as well.
