A very fun, welcoming place to dance. I would really only go here to dance my heart out
We went last Saturday for the Drag Queen show, I was sooooo happy the ladies was pleased, and nothing that you read in here in bad review is true, I see nothing bad but many people having a great time in harmony.,Will be there for the next show , or next birthday I hope.
Love this place for everything they offer!!! The drag shows are amazing
Fun. Good service. Fun environment:)
DJ is iffy sometimes on songs. Drinks are better than Society. Dance floor placement is interesting, it feels like you're being on the spot, haha. TIme to show off what you got! It's fun when the music is vibing, otherwise I go to Society. I appreciate that the DJ takes requests. I tip them. I only go on Fridays or Saturdays. Fridays are less busy. People are shy to dance at first when the music starts around 9 pm.
Such a bad place when you mute someone when they speak the truth. You shut yourselves down. I'll remove this if you unblock me
I drive the girls out to dance, they love it.... I would give it more stars if they would keep the douchebags and their vape pens from leaving a fog over the place... my throat tightens up as soon as I walk in
Treated poorly by staff. Followed around constantly. Love the hotdog stand though. Did not feel safe here. Asked to speak to management but denied.
So far this is the only bar/club I have been to downtown. Everyone is nice so I don't have a need to try another place. They also do many kinds of events each month. I am straight and shy but I feel comfortable there so I will continue to go, and fear not ladies. You don't have to worry about me coming up to hit on you, I am terrified to approach you.
Love this place. Great music and welcoming people. Always have a good time. Prices are really good. It's also nice that they have excellent bar food!

I always have a good time here. In fact i met someone here 9 months ago...we're still seeing each other.! We come here every month to celebrate the night we met.
Haven't been to Jake's in years, despite it being one of the only places with a dance floor. It's billed as a gay bar but it's a really great place to get groped by straight guys on the dance floor and has a years long history of gay people being harassed and assaulted. It's not a safe place for queer people.
Growing up in Olympia as a young queer I've often heard bad things about Jake's. Whenever I did hear positive things they were from straight folk who didn't understand the problems many queer folk had with the bar. As a young adult I have never personally been a patron of Jake's but stay away out of fear because I know it isn't a safe place. With the recent violent and homophobic attack on two queer folk and two women (as of 1/31/2019), I feel it's imperative to reexamine this bar as a safe place for queers, which to my knowledge it hasn't been in years .
Sure, bars are full of predatory men. What's new? But this place really attracts the worst of the worst. Just walking by this place people have aggressively targetted feminine people I was with. Now there's been a hate crime against lgbt patrons outside as the staff looked on and did nothing. Some guys yelled homophobic slurs and physically attacked two people. Doesn't sound like a safe place for anyone. One of the victims needed a CT scan. Both were physically injured by the attack. Don't give your money to this place.
It's misleading and dangerous to advertise Jake's as a gay bar if you aren't going to create a safe space for the queer community. I used to have a great time here. What a pity!
