DJ Haj kills it with the throwbacks! Always a great place to dance when there’s a good DJ. Bouncers are very responsive and respectful when issues arise. Very fun friendly environment!

I asked for dance music (Amy Winehouse, Madonna). We got top 40 2013. Me, a supple and active female accompanied three other 22-22 year girls in boots asked for better music. To no avail. Bummer. We are leaving. Thanks for the one MJ and Donna Summers song. I don't need to revisit 2013.

Love the vibes here--everyone I've come across is super nice! I love how happy and high energy the crowd is & I really love the Monday karaoke--there's a couple of singers that go there and are extremely talented--it's a great place to be and all the staff there work hard and do well.
The owners are also down to earth and kind- they are there every weekend and consistently push for the best atmosphere possible-they go above and beyond teaming up with their staff to keep this place awesome :D

I was really excited to hear about Jake’s reopening. I waited a few months, cause I figured that it would be really packed with the reopening. I finally went in the first weekend of October, and I was severely disappointed. I know that you guys rushed to reopen for the summer. Maybe the vibe was different when you first reopened, but the music sucked. The DJ did not know how to transition properly. It was a whole lot of millennial music and Spanish music, which is fine but not if it’s constantly at the same BPM all night with terrible transitions. The DJ does not take song requests and clearly does not know how to read the room. If you want people to come back, you have to play music for 21-year-olds not 35-year-olds. The bartender also had to look up recipes for drinks Which again would be totally fine if it wasn’t an insanely common drink that they had to look up the recipe for. Waited all summer for this to reopen was really excited to finally go in during my favorite time of year and was severely letdown :( Not a single hit from today was played. No gay iconic music like Kesha or Gaga. “Like a G6” was the best song played all night… and that’s saying something.

My wife and i have been here a few times including the soft opening night. Last weekend had the tastiest drink special ever there, something like a sour apple? Tasted like a jolly rancher. This place has been so great since reopening. It feels like a much more lesbian friendly vibe, a lot less weird straight men stalking all the women. Solid music. Cool new events happening. The new murals are BEAUTIFUL! Great work everyone.

Literally been here on several Fridays and Saturdays because I work throughout the week and always have a bad time. I'm so tired of feeling like I'm at a rave and jumping up and down. Silverstone in tacoma has better music and vibes. Legit need to change the vibes on weekends for real. Dance floor is ALWAYS empty due to the music options.
Fun fact: I am not an employee for Silverstone lol. I work a boring 9-5, M-F which is why I cant go out during the week. Please just play 2000s on the weekends for an even better turn out.
They have a pool table and dance floors. There's are stairs to a stage. I think there was a ramp.

I had something called a white gummy and that drink was crazy good. Dancing was a lot of fun and they have really cute place for you to vape in the back outside.

Silver stone in Tacoma is better. I’m over feeling like I’m at a rave and no one is ever dancing. The dance floor is empty.
It was ok I didn't like that the last DJ of the night he would only play techno type music! Its like he plays from a play list not really DJing. I asked if he could play cupid shuffle or wobble and he said I have Meg the Stallion and that was techno to...It gave rave 😂 I did enjoy the people and the atmosphere over all!

I was excited when Jake’s on Fourth reopened downtown — the first couple of weekends were great. The staff is fantastic, and it’s such a welcome thing to have a place in Olympia where people can go out and dance.
That said, the music has been the biggest letdown. At first, it was just a little underwhelming, but over the months it’s become really repetitive and difficult to dance to. The DJ doesn’t seem to mix songs well or read the room, and it’s taken the energy out of the space. A nightclub or dance spot lives and dies by its music — it’s what keeps people on the floor, engaged, and excited to come back. Lately, it’s been so off that the dance floor is almost empty, which makes the whole experience feel awkward.
I want to stress that this feedback comes from a place of support. Olympia needs a place like Jake’s, and I really want to see it thrive. The staff clearly cares, and the atmosphere has so much potential. But unless the music improves and a DJ can keep the energy flowing with a variety of songs that people want to dance to, it’s hard to justify coming back regularly.
Please, Jake’s — bring in someone who can truly DJ and make the music the heartbeat of the night. If that happens, I know this place could become the go-to spot for dancing in Olympia again.
