I love this place. Yesterday on Halloween we decided to stop here at the South Bay BBQ. I got the pulled chicken sandwich with 2 sides. My fiancé got the half rack of ribs with two sides and cornbread. I also got a side of the pickled eggs they make in house.
It was so good. Unique and balanced flavors that make you keep taking a bite after bite. I usually never finish my plate. But I finished mine and was ready for some more!
Today we decided to stop in again. I got the same thing and got a hot link on the side. (I wish I got a couple hot links cause the flavor was Spectacular)
My fiancé got the smoked brisket with two sides. I was yet again not disappointed. The waitress today and yesterday were so kind and answered all my question. The atmosphere is comfortable!! And before you even walk in you can smell the meat smoking down the road. Like most restaurants it enclosed. This place has a mixer of delicious smoked meat and fresh air since the door to the place was open.
They have an upper loft that hold pinball games and to the left a whole bar.
The meats are to die for. We spend $75 on Halloween & $70 today. They deserve every dollar. I seriously can’t get enough. I’m going to be dreaming about this place until I can get my hands on another plate!

This was my first time trying this BBQ place haven’t had any BBQ in a long while and had a taste and this place was the closest to me first off it was very humid and hot smoky inside but! I got a two meet two side plate comes with corn bread for $32.80 first off the flavor on ribs brisket was great! But ribs were so small I never seen any this small before I mean tiny and it only comes with 2 and dry the brisket was very dry also seemed not very fresh and again only two tiny pieces the corn bread was alright not my favorite but good the mac and cheese was a great texture noodle to cheese ratio but no flavor and had jalapeños in it and that wasn’t advertised I didn’t like it at all the potato salad was great loved it tho potatoes seemed a little under cooked but great flavor kind of disappointed the plate to me was only worth about half what it cost me won’t be going back

From the moment I stepped in I knew the food would be fantastic. It smells like you are inside the smoker, and the food didn't disappoint. I had the brisket and chicken, while my spouse had the sausage. I especially enjoyed the Mac and cheese (something I am usually very critical of). Overall the food was on par with barbecue I have enjoyed in San Antonio.

Oh bbq how I love you but you're so expensive. I had the special, a baked potato with bbq pork. Baked and dressed to perfection. Hubby had chicken sandwich and loved it except for the bun, he forgot to ask for the cornbread. Our server was so kind and accommodating. A really nice lunch.

Seemed nice, but the BBQ I got was a liquid mess. I can't tell if it's just extremely greasy or like dipped in water. I couldn't finish my food unfortunately. The bottom bun did it's best to soak up all the liquids but it turned into mush too. Smells better than it tastes....

The cornbread and coleslaw are excellent. I'll be 125 next time I try your ribs. As a Southerner, I know what BBQ ribs are suppose to taste like and those I tried are not in the ballpark. Also, moist they were not.

Wow looking at the owner's responses to about the customer reviews made change my mind about coming.

When I ordered the food came out in about 5 mins. I wondered how could you have made all the food I ordered in. 5 minutes ? It was a clear indication to us this food is not fresh the moment it was put on the table . Meat Was dry. The macaroni , potato salad & corn bread need to be investigated because it is the worst thing on planet earth.
This was our first time & Everything we ordered was horrible. Feels like whoever owns this place has given up on trying because wow. I was in shock by the experience and waste of my money.

Normally this place is a go to favorite BBQ spot. Lately the servings have been tiny, the to go orders have been messily packaged with the wrong sides (even when ordering in house not online or through door dash) the sides have gone downhill. The food does taste good. But for a two meat combo that costs you $30 you should be getting more than a scoop of meat. I think we will try and find a new BBQ spot instead. Which is a shame.
