Fun triva on Thursday night.
The loaded baked potato was amazing with the pulled pork. Every bite melts in your mouth and it's like all your best memories of home cooked meals rolled into one. The baked beans taste like heaven and your first kiss. The cornbread has that perfect, crumbly texture and the side of butter whipped up with vanilla sends it soaring. My only complaint is that there isn't more butter. And my stomach isn't bigger. This place is so good. I was feeling homesick for good food and this place soothed my troubled heart.
Maybe we came on a bad day, but the brisket and pulled pork were so drrryyyy. I couldn't even eat the pulled pork. Service was great, but we probably won't go back.
I need to look at review more. I ordered to go. The mac and cheese was a good temp but my brisket and ribs were cold. My hot link was raw and I had to cook it.
The service was spot on, atmosphere was amazing. Going into the establishment, it smelled highly promising. Waitress was kind and quick with services. Got our food fairly quick ( which was nice.)
Food was lacking flavor, sausage had no flavor at all. Pulled pork was semi decent at best their cole-slaw had zero flavor what-so-ever. For the price the food isn't worth it. But it's one of the better spots in the area sadly.
Best bbq in olympia area - tri tip sandwich is to die for
Not impressed. The peach cobbler was unfortunate and the pulled pork sandwich was very dry. The beef brisket was really good, but that was the only thing. The service was good and friendly. Atmosphere was awesome.

Easy atmosphere. Ordering and paying was simple. Person that took our order set was friendly.
The brisket and pulled pork were tender but lacked flavor. Same with the baked beans. Cornbread and Mac and cheeee were fine. And the meat portions in their combo meals were laughable. It was worth trying but not worth the $50 spent.
A big downside though was the staff bussed food from other people in our party while they were playing pinball, so they came back to the table with all their food gone and left hungry.

This was a rather meh first visit. We tried the brisket, smoked sausage, and ribs. Our plates arrived room temperature. The flavor was ok. We have been to BBQ places all over the country and this one was just kinda ok for us.

The only dishes we really like are the Beef Brisket Sliders, and Green Salad. ALL of the side dishes & peach cobbler were a disappointment. Service is good.
(We're regulars, as our friend entertains there occasionally). ??

Got pulled chicken sandwich for 17.50 which tasted absolutely nothing like chicken. Has a wild game taste to it. Didn't even look like chicken. I gave it to my dog. Nice lady served me though. Mac and cheese was bland and tasted a bit like pepper jack cheese which I wasn't fond of. The ribs are very good though. I ordered one odd rib to try and quickly realized I should have ordered those instead.

We stopped by there on a Saturday and got 2 two meat plates. Cornbread was dry, chicken was cold, everything else was barely warm, portions were tiny for the price. Bill was about $70 for two meals and a beer.
There were alot of flies. The large side door was open, which was probably why. But there should be some sort of fly control. They kept landing on our food and glasses.
Staff was friendly.

This reviews comes from the perspective of a married pair of mid 30s with no kids, visiting from Seattle for the weekend.
We came down for the weekend and stayed in the Historic District. I was hankering for some barbecue, and chose South Bay for dinner.
Visually, the restaurant is fine. Has a fine hybrid indoor/outdoor space, inoffensive decor, and ample but not too tight seating. The outdoor seating is shared with their parter "Pig Bar" next door.
Their service was slow and relatively inattentive, considering there weren't many of us in the restaurant side - however, everyone was very nice.
Now for the food. It was a mixed bag. We shared a 3 meat combo (ribs, brisket, and chicken) with their mac and cheese, beans and cornbread. For the positives. The meat was cooked excellently. Ribs were pull apart, brisket and chicken were moist and tender, nothing chewy - fantastic meat. The Mac and Cheese, and cornbread were also delicious. However, the bad. Barbecue lives and dies by the flavor... Either in the sauce or the rub... And the flavor of the meat and of the sauce just wasn't there. The meat plain didn't have any real strong notes, and the sauces were just... Mehhhh? It's not offensive at all, or bad... But it isn't something I'm going to write home about, or remember after writing this. This extended to the beans as well, which while cooked well and have great promise... Just didn't deliver. Additionally, portion sizes were a bit smaller than expected (again, not offensively so), for the price, but that's probably cause everything here in the touristy part of town is that way.
Overall, it's a fine place that can scratch the itch for barbecue at a fine enough price, with a fine enough vibe. Not great, not terrible. Perfect 3 stars. Fine, but forgettable.

Unfortunately they raised their price's and the food wasn't worth 30$. A bbq food truck is up the street from them and his price's are cheaper and the food is way better. I went to bbq truck and he just sold out so I decided to try the Pig since I haven't had it for many years. The brisket was hard and and portions small. For a 30$ plate I would expect way more food and better quality. I could have sat down at a nice restaurant for a 30$ plate. At least I know now not to go back. Thanks.

The food was THAT very delicious. Quite different than what I am used to. But I say that in a great way. And my server, great lady. And the atmosphere, don't change it.
