Was driving through and decided to stop to try it out! I got a burger, fries and a strawberry banana shake. It was so good! I’m from California so for me it’s comparable to in n out and the shake foster freeze! Soo yummy. Also their sauce is so good!

Having been spoiled by places like In-n’-Out burger all over the west, Burger Landing in Port Hadlock and the now-closed down Norma’s Burgers Lacey, we’re quite discerning when it comes to a quality burger. Been wanting to try Van’s for a long time but hadn’t had the chance. They have limited seasonal hours primarily restricted to the summertime. Finally got a chance today. First of all, expect to be in line of cars for a while but apparently that’s to be expected according to others who have reviewed this place. It’s wasn’t too long as I thought it might be thankfully, about 20 minutes from start to finish.
I ordered a Big Pete while my GF got the cheeseburger w/bacon. Also ordered a Fry and a drink. Price not too bad coming in just under $30. You order at the first hut and then drive to pick up your food at the second hut. Staff was friendly enough, at first (more on that later). We then got our food and parked over by the obvious former McDonald’s Big Mac character and sat down on the picnic table. There are many to choose from and each has a parking spot. We soon discovered we were missing our fries. I walked back to the second hut and said we were missing our fries. The woman said she’d bring it right out. Took a while and we were almost done with our burgers when the staff person came out and with a wry, insincere smile said that the fries “weren’t on the ticket” but they were giving us the fries as a “courtesy”. Uh what?? We ordered fries we told her but didn’t have the receipt handy at that time to proof it (receipt was stashed somewhere in the car). Also we pointed out to her why else would we order all these fry dipping sauces? She left thinking we were trying to juke them out of fries. That REALLY pissed both of us off so I made a point to dig out the receipt out of the car, walk back to their hut and tell them, “see… we ordered fries” (see pic in review). We were just about to pull out when the same woman flagged us down, apologized for how she treated us and offered us a $10 gift card. We accepted but we still had a stinging feeling when we left. I don’t like being accused of stealing, particularly stealing french fries-?. I mean, come on….
As for the burgers, they were actually quite good despite our experience so far and that’s their saving grace. nicely cooked ¼” burger patties which is the perfect size of a patty by the way. Fresh toppings and they toast the buns which is absolutely critical. Nice job Van’s on the burgers. The fries, well, they are crinkle fries and nothing special. Like to see instead an option for steak or wedge fries. Or better yet, fresh-cut bowling alley style fries to make this place REALLY stand out. I’d pay extra for that. Dipping sauces were ‘meh’. I’d recommend sticking with just the free ketchup. Also don’t bother getting a drink. No refills and over-priced. Recommend going over to the nearby Chevron station and get a 16 oz soda for a $1.50 less or just bring your own which is what we do.
So all in all, good food, staff need an attitude adjustment and improve their order process. I don’t know how Van’s does their receipt-to-ticket but they better tune that up because there is a gap somewhere in the lines of communication. We’ll give Van’s a second chance but If it happens again we won’t be back and I’ll update this review and knock it down to 1 star.

So, I waited about 40 minutes in line. Apparently, this isn't unusual as they have t-shirts that say they "survived the line at Van's." I ordered the Big Pete burger. Which is basically a double cheeseburger with everything, onion rings, and a chocolate shake. The burger was worth the wait. Sloppy, savory, and delicious. The shake was both creamy and tasty. The onion rings were a bit overcooked and not the best. Overall, I would go back, just don't be in a hurry.

Love this drive thru!!! The staff is SO friendly. Don't let the long line stop you. They are really organized, and the wait is SO worth it. ? I really enjoy their FRINGS, and they have the best shakes! They also have a great area where you can park and enjoy your food outside. It's mostly shaded and has peaceful views.

All the employees there were so helpful, friendly, and seemed to honestly care. It's a refreshing break from the standard "I'll be nice because I have to" attitude....

The service man, THE SERVICE! Customer service is the best, they earn my loyalty with it.
Now, review on food:
My favorite, the MILKSHAKES ? they are the best shakes I ever tried, must must get them, also one of the reasons I WILL go back, excellent job with them ?
Hamburger it's very good, nothing mind blowing, for my first time trying it, and the amount of costumers they have, I was expecting a little "somerhing" on it... but, yeah, would 1000% prefer this place vs a big chain restaurant.
Fries, there nothing special at all, It would be interesting to see some "in house seasoning" for them maybe ? ?
Onion rings, good, worth to buy, nothing crazy about them, but they are good ?♂️
The "hotdog" I bought, shown on pictures, comes on a burger bun but witg sausage in, I personally did not like this one at all, nor wife and kid, but we had to give it a try, we wanted to try what this place had to offer.
We enjoyed getting our food, park there and eat, TAKE YOUR PLATES ? my wife was very clever to bring plates, make it super comfortable to eat in the car like that.
COME VISIT, COME TRY, COME AND ENJOY, love this place now, and again, I will come back,

A favorite treat for our family! Worth the drive to get to and reasonable prices. It’s one of those if you know you know places. Strawberry shortcake week coincided with last week of school making it extra special!
