Wayside has been a plant based staple for many years now. The food is pretty solid, the specials are usually some of the best options you will find there. The base menu is good but for some reason the specials seem to knock it out of the park. This is also one of the few restaurants that makes everything from scratch! I love that! The shakes are the best vegan shakes I have ever had, highly recommended.Dietary restrictions: Everything is vegan!

Soul nourishing comfort food, a lovely reprieve and mandatory stop everytime we pass through Olympia. The rib plate, mac and cheese, dip, and cauliflower wings are all the best.

Went there a few weeks ago while passing through Olympia. They have a diverse menu, and I was split between a few different choices. I ended up getting the bbq soy curl and sharing a side of the chikn wings. We also got a few slices of cake to have later, which ended up being a great decision. Each slice of cake ended up being enough for 2 servings. I don't make it to Olympia very often, but I definitely plan on going back some time while I'm traveling through.

The portion sizes are big but the food doesn’t taste great. I love vegan food, I was vegan for 3 years and have been vegetarian for 9, and there was nothing special about this place. The mac and cheese has that obvious Daiya taste, it is also very sticky. The cheese sauce in the almost famous bowl was the same. The sandwich my sister got was completely mushy and had to be eaten with a fork, it couldn’t even be picked up. Overall, the food is expensive and despite the large portions, it doesn’t taste good and isn’t worth it. The bakery items are delicious though.

Unfortunately, several of the dishes were so salty that they were inedible. Collard greens and Dan Dan bowl were drenched in salt. The red chile jackfruit sandwich was not too bad, and the creamed corn was the best of the dishes. The air smelled of rancid fryer grease. But do appreciate the attempt to promote plant based.....but I've had so much healthier and better tasting whole food plant based dishes.

The restaurant is very cute, but parking was a challenge, and there wasn't much outdoor dog-friendly seating, so we got our food as takeout and went to a nearby park with our dog. The portions were huge and meant we had multiple meals from it. The ribs were amazing, and so was the mac and cheese. The chicken sandwich was also excellent. They had great soft serve, too!

ASK THEM ABOUT THERE MILKSHAKES!They aren't listed anywhere but their milkshakes are vegan and they are the best milkshakes I've ever had. Including all of the non vegan milkshakes I've had, these are still better. I've specifically had their Carmel and Oreo milkshakes but however they make these is so good it's a must stop anytime I'm in town.
